Exploring IITG : A Deep Dive into Academic Brilliance, Campus Culture, and Beyond.

Based on my rank in JEE Advanced I was getting electrical , mechanical in lower IITs. Over all these courses I preferred Biosciences and Bioengineering at IIT Guwahati because of good opportunities and placement. Also courses are quiet chill. You can easily get good grades even after small daily effort.Our class strength is about 75 students and every students are given proper opportunites to clarify their doubts.Every labs are well equipped and have capacity to accomodate each students also lab assistants are always there to help us. Almost all faculty have there Phd from foreign universities. In one semester we have to go with four exam.Two quizes of 15% each and one midsem and one endsem each of 30% weightage.

Grabing oncampus internship is little bit difficult as compared to placement as we do not have prior experience. But after getting internship securing placement become too easy and one can also get pre placement offer(PPO) from company if they get satisfied with your work and skill. Internship opportunity is quiet well but challenging too. Top companies come for intern and various roles in various profile like intern in software development, web development, data scientist etc.Internship stipend depend on ones talent and skill on an average students get stipend about 50k per month. Other than oncampus students have always option to opt for offcampus internship or research internship after geting recommandation from professor.For internship try to maintain good Cpi atleast 7 and complete two-three project in respective domains. If you have command over DSA then it will always boost your resume and increase security.

Placements are good enough and not to worry if you are average or above average students. Although many below average students are also placed but these year it has been little difficult due to recession periods. From 7th semester onward students are eligible for campus placement.Before placement try to grab atleast one internship.Top recruiters like google ,microsoft ,mercedes, Bajaj, HPCL etc. Highest package are usually offered above one crore by domestic company and above 2 crore by international company. Percentage placement for UG B. Tech is approx 89% across al branch and profiles. I am willing to secure placement and join software company after graduation.

Fee structure mainly consits of tution fee, Hostel fees and mess fees. Besides these other small fees include medical fees, maintanace fees ,examination fees etc. Fees hike policy at IITG are quiet good and normal. I had not noticed any increasement in fees after my admission in these two years. Various scholarship opportunities are available for IITs students like MCM scholarship, NSP scholarhip and many other scholarship are also offerd by private companies and organisation such as Panasonic Ratti Chhatr scholarship for 1st year students. MCM is merit based scholarship at each year on the basis of CPI of students. Apart from all these scholarship many internship opportunities are offerd from various institues across the globe with good stipend during semester break.

IIT guwahati has many fest but annual cultural fest Alcheringa is one of the India 's largest cultural fest celebrated with pomps and show in the spring month of february at beautiful campus of IITG. India's top artist , young talents visits the campus and perform their talents in almost every field. Techniche is the IITG technical fest which is celebrated in month of september. Various events like drone racing, robo wars are conducted where teams from all over countries and neighbouring country participate. IITG library are well equiped with books ,latest journals ,modern technology and fascility . Classrooms are also well furnished with all amenities like AC, smart board ,visuals . There is good sports culture in our campus. Every year inter hostel sports competition called spardha are organised consisting of all alomost all sports. Alomost all clubs like aeromodelling club and socities are run by students. Many fest including Alcheringa and Techniche are also organised by students.

Hostel facility are quiet good. In first and second year we have to share room with one batchmates and after second year we got single room. In double occupany we may get some comapct but it is managable. Hostel room consists of two table ,two chair ,two beds and two almirah in double occuoany. LAN speed at hostel room is quiet good. Every hostel also have some sports fascility for both outdoors and indoor games. TV room is accessible for cricket match and movies . For meal quality at I will rate 2.5 out of 5.Breakfast here are best and healthy. We got hostle allotment by college just after getting confirming seat at IITG. There is very complex process of changing hostel and usually it does'nt require anyone to change hostel.Proper cleanness and hygine is maintained in hostel.

Admission to IIT's B. Tech program requires success in JEE mains and JEE Advanced.
