Likes

Library. It's really good ambience for students . There are two campus for SH and each campus have library
Washroom. Every floor contains many washroom that is separate for men and women and it is very clean every time
Festivals like onam Christmas etc are super and very active

Dislikes

Our college has two campus east campus and west campus in this east campus is little strict
Exam system there is two internal exams there in every semester
There is less bus is available in the college root

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good and provide good lectures. I choose this course because i would like to study about society and institutions and cultural etc so i choose this course. There is good teachers are available for every subjects. Every faculty qualified NET and some of them having p.hd . Every teachers are very responsible and friendly and available for doubt clearance. After every 5 months they conduct end semester exam. This college is autonomous and it feels little difficult to pass the examination

Class Size: 15Course Fees: INR 36000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

At the time of admission we need to pay around 28000 rupees. This amount including admission fees and first semester fees. After this we need to pay 18000 in each semester. The full cost of study is around 80000. There is a chance to get scholarship but it is on the base of some criteria. I don't have any scholarship because of this i don't know very much about that. There are scholarship for disabled students is available. I'm a first year student and I don't get a job this year. After completing this course i got a job.

Campus Life

Campus life are super. There are so many festivals are there some of them are aquaela and heartian fest. These two are the most important fest in the college . Above these there are more fests are there. There are Instagram channel which run by students of my college like sacred heart college group, sH MA 2023 etc . Every department conduct many small programs like quizzes and seminars, workshop etc and they provide certificate of participation for every student who attended the program. There are many scope for sports interested students like hand ball. Our college got silver medal in the beach handball games that conducted in Goa.

Admission

The admission process is not so simple. First there is needed a graduation, it may be any degree. And you should fill the registration form that provide in the college official website. And then you need to visit the college office with your certificates and admission fees. There is reservation available on the base of community mainly for Christians

Experiences so far

Likes

My experience at lissah has been mixing of challenges. Psychology depart has supportive teachers and classes is good
Campus is peaceful and it’s so greenery there are opportunities to take part in different academics
I also like that the psychology department has its own lab and practical exposure and Lissah is well known for psychology itself

Dislikes

I feel that there could be more programmes activities and opportunities for students to make college life
Location could feel like quiet and it’s not in town area
Those who prefer more active atmosphere I would not recommend here

I chose bsc psychology because I was interested in understanding human behaviour. The curriculum covers different areas of psychology along with subjects such as major psychology minor statistics and physiology then English mdc . Since I am still in my first year I have only experienced the initial part of course

Faculties are good. Most them are very friendly
Class rooms and canteen are also good. Not the best
Fees are very low comparing to other collages

Dislikes

Not giving good placements. Only 1 or 2 good companies good. Others are average
I'm not interested hostel. But my friends in hostel always saying that the food is not good.
Some faculties are not treat all the students equal. Not every only some

Placement Experience:

Placement are not the best. But EY , federal bank, TCS are some the prominent companies that are coming. The negative thing about placement is most of them are offering marking jobs. So if you are someone who is interested in operations this is not the collage you want to in.

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Likes

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Programs and activities are good and the support

Exams are conducted without a gap in between
There are a lot of assignment often for the students

After 6 th semester students become eligible for placements . It's in the final years . Many companies have visited the college and made offers for the students like Wipro,Tenzo tech , infopark etc Around 70 Percent students get placement

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Remarks:

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.

Honest review about SH college: academic, campus and beyond

I chose Sacred Heart College over the other colleges, as it boasts a strong academic reputation, structured curriculum, and holistic development. Sacred Heart through the mind of a Heartian.

? I only applied to colleges in my city. I got admission into two of them and, I chose this college because I have studied in the school of the same name run by the same board and the distance was less compared to other colleges. ? Sacred Heart The Best
