Course Curriculum Overview

2

The overall syllabus of B.Sc. Maths Hons. under CU is not at all student-friendly. And the faculty members of the Scottish Church aren't either. Quality study time at college is below par. It's mostly the student's effort that helps him/her pass the semesters.

Fees and Financial Aid

The average fee structure for Maths Hons. is actually less compared to other courses. That is mostly because we never had practical labs. Students mostly get the scholarships they apply for and the campus cell of SCC is pretty good. They offer pretty decent internship offers and conduct seminars from high-profile companies.

Campus Life

5

Social life and exposure to the outer world are best experienced at SCC. Kudos to the ever-active Activity Clubs and their secretaries for constantly conducting sessions to learn and exhibitions to showcase their talents.

Admission

After my Higher Secondary I was looking for pursuing Hons. in Mathematics somewhere in Kolkata. Got called by some reputed colleges of Kolkata (including Scottish) based upon my marks of class 12. No entrance exam, admission was purely based on marks obtained in class 12. The overall process was perfectly organized, arranged and informed to the applicants through the college website and also through personal mail-id.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Though the bachelor of science is pursued by someone who wants to research and develop some idea to help the modern world. The primary decision was to contribute to the society like the great scientists who have done so before. The curriculum provides a balanced approach of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, theoretical knowledge from classes, assignments, homeworks and exams. Practical knowledge through the different workshops that are held in the college auditorium or online with successful men of the field who are brought as guests in them, from renowned scientists to great thinkers we have met a lot of them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love computer science so I chose this department. The teaching in this department is very good and the labs are also very good. We have many exams in our semester. It would have been better if we had studied our theory paper a little better. And it would have been better if we had studied Android app development a little better.
