In 2009, admission to the B.Sc (Hons) program at Scottish Church College was merit-based, focusing on mathematics and physics scores from Higher Secondary exams. Out of 65 applicants, 30 were selected. The college, affiliated with Calcutta University, is praised for its strong faculty, who are approachable and encourage innovative thinking. The yearly student fee is about 7,000-8,000 INR, with arts subjects costing under 5,000 INR and science subjects between 6,000-9,000 INR.
Initial admission fees were 16,400 INR, and semester fees are approximately 7,000 INR, excluding lodging and food. Although the college offers a placement cell, opportunities are limited, with companies like ICICI, HDFC, Indigo, and Amazon recruiting graduates. Students become eligible for placements after their 5th semester. Scholarships such as the INSPIRE and Vivekananda Scholarship are available, especially for meritorious Christian students. Despite occasional fee hikes, the college's fees remain lower than many government institutions.
