Course Curriculum Overview
Well, the first reason is that I opted for this course as this was the best one I was getting on the basis of my JEE MAINS score. The faculty-to-student ratio is OK. In experiments, one assistant is assigned to every 5 students. In lectures, 1 teacher teaches 104 students. The faculty is highly qualified. Most of the professors hold a Ph.D. from top IITs. The teaching of some teachers is not that good. Some teachers are unable to connect with students. Practical exams are held only during the end seems. The exams are of moderate level and are easy to pass.
Internships Opportunities
MNNIT Allahabad allows internships from 3rd year onwards. Various companies like Google, Adobe, Microsoft, etc. come for hiring for internships. The stipend varies from 50000 rs to 100000 rs. College allows Internships in the 8th semester as well.
Placement Experience
For internships, you are eligible from 3rd year. While for Placements 4th year is eligible. Top companies visiting the campus for placements like Google, Adobe, Meta(Facebook), Twitter, Amazon, Texas Instruments, Goldman Sachs, etc visit the campus for placements. In the 2022 season, Electrical Engineering experienced 100% placements. In 2023, the highest package was 82.63 lakhs in Electrical Engineering. The average package in Electrical Engineering was 21.22 Lakhs. The percentage of placements in EE was 98.75%.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are not as high as expected from a government college. The cost of the study is not that high with fee concessions available for economically weaker students. Students with a family income of less than 5 lakhs get a 2/3rd remission in tuition fees. Students with a family income of less than 1 lakh get 100% remission in tuition fees. SC/ST students get 100% remission in tuition fees.
Campus Life
The annual cultural fest is named CULRAV. The annual tech fest is named AVISHKAR. They are conducted at the end of March or the beginning of April. The library is great and is packed with books. There are rooms in the library for silent studying. Library have sockets for charging phones and laptops but sometimes there is no current in the socket. The course books are mostly available in the library. The classrooms are OK. Sometimes the AC does not work properly.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are airy and spacious. The rooms have separate places for study. In 1st year some of the students get 4 sharing rooms so it may get a little congested. The rooms are provided with 3 full space almirahs and one short almirah. The mess quality is OK. It is better than one would expect from a government college mess. The menu has dishes mostly from North India. Mostly sweets are served at night. The college issues an official notification on its website for registration. The registration process was smooth and quick. The officials were quite cooperative.
Admission
Admission to MNNIT Allahabad is through a JEE MAINS score. The closing rank for this year in General Home State category was 11946. The admission is through JOSAA and CSAB the unselling for Indian candidates and through DASA for foreign candidates. 50% of seats are reserved for home state students (Uttar Pradesh). The Home State is the state from which you have passed your 12th boards.
