Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because in was interested in technical and computer domain. I had taken computer science in my high school. The facilities in IGIT Sarang are very experienced and knowledgeable. They are really great supporters in learning different skills required for computer science engineering. There are enough faculties available in every course provided in our institute. The facilities are highly qualified and most of them have done PhD in their specialized domain. Their teaching method is very understandable and the classes are quite interactive. Per year consists of two semester exams of a period of total 6 months. The difficulty level is moderate to tough for the end sem exams.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internship opportunities provide students with a platform to gain practical experience and apply their academic knowledge to real-world projects. These projects are designed to offer meaningful learning experiences and contribute to the student's professional growth. Our college provides a lot of intership opportunities to the students.

Placement Experience

4

Students typically become eligible for campus placements from their 7th semester onwards, as they start entering the final year of their course. Various reputed companies visit the campus for placements. Approximately 85% of eligible students secured placements in various companies. After completing my course, I plan to explore opportunities in my field of study, gain practical experience, and contribute to real-world projects.

Fees and Financial Aid

The Computer Science engineering branch and Electronics and telecommunication branch are self sustained courses and the yearly fees is almost 72 thousands per year. The scholarships are available according to the family income of the students.

Campus Life

4.5

College life is a vibrant mix of academic pursuits and extracurricular activities that create a well-rounded experience for students. At our college, the annual cultural fest, "Anweshan," takes place in March, while the tech enthusiasts eagerly await the tech fest, "Technovision". The library is a treasure trove of knowledge, housing a vast collection of books and journals across various disciplines. Classrooms are equipped with modern amenities, including multimedia facilities, enhancing the learning environment. The campus promotes a healthy lifestyle through a range of sports like cricket, football, and yoga, along with diverse extracurricular activities such as debate club, art society, and photography club.

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
