Remarks

Best college for bachelors in engineering in Delhi with great infrastructure and placement opportunities.

Entrance Preview

Have to qualify the JEE Mains exam and participate in JAC Delhi counselling. JAC is a joint counselling for BE/BTech admission in DTU, NSIT, IIIT Delhi and IGDTU which includes 85% seats reserved for students who completes their 12th class exams in Delhi.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I did my Civil Engineering at DTU. But if you want to land in great companies (like Google, Facebook, Amazon etc) with good salary package choose Computer Science, Information Technology or Software Engineering. Even Mathematics and Computation Engineering students get into Good IT companies. For core branches like Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and EEE few PSUs are there for the requirement and major private companies also visit the campus for placement. Overall DTU is one of the best college for placement in Delhi.

Internships Opportunities

Few companies provide internships in Campus. Unlike placements, campus internships are something difficult to get. But if someone gets definitely gets a PPO.

Placement Experience

4.5

For CSE, IT and SE students they can land in Good IT and Software profile companies with huge packages(Avg 7-8lacs). For Core Branches, there are few PSUs which visits the campus and major private core companies also recruits DTU Graduates. Along with this many Non Technical companies and Startup visits the campus with good packages.

College Events

4.5

Fests at DTU are great to enjoy they have different Techfest like INNOVA, TATVA etc and major cultural fest is EngiFest. You can look for popular international and national artists in these fests. EngiFest is full of life with different competitions don't miss them. 3 days for Techfest and 3-4 days for cultural fest after midterm exams are a great relief.

Fee Structure And Facilities

During my admission time (2013-2017), the fess is about 70K per annum for day scholars and below 1 lac/annum. But nowadays (2017) the fees are about 1.4 lac - 1.8 lac for the new admissions don't know the exact figure. But compared to NITs and IITs fess it's all the same now.

Fees and Financial Aid

For scholarships please check the institute websites. DTU has its own SBI Branch and all banks provide loans.

Campus Life

4.5

There are many technical and cultural societies in college for Music, Dance, Plays, Photography, Films etc. IEEE ASCE CES Pratbim..etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are 4 Boys and 2 Girls hostels in the campus. For juniors, they provide 2-3 seater and single rooms for the final year and Masters student. Hostel rooms are good when compared with other premium institutes. Food is average. They have two gyms, all major indoor and outdoor sports in the college. For Delhi students, its bit difficult to get hostel but one can find many affordable PGs near the college and use hostel messes for affordable foods.

Alumni/Alumna

When maintained Alumni network is there with regular meets in the College.

Exam Structure

One Midterm and One Endterm exam are there. Passing the exams is not a big deal, preparation a day before the exam can do it. But again to get good CGPA regular and continuous efforts is a must.

Faculty

3

Faculty are all well-qualified majority of them have PhDs from IITs and IISc. One can find all kind of faculties in college. Since DTU is a deemed university the same faculty who teaches you will check your exams answer sheets. Teaching standard is fair and the scores in exam depend on your extra efforts.

Here placement is average as many opt for higher studies the reason behind this is maybe because only a few companies visit. In which TCS is a mass recruiter. The average package here is 3-4 lakh per annum and the highest goes up to 6lakhs per annum. Here placement ratio is about 50%. I will also opt for higher studies after getting a degree

College management needs to work upon just the placement cell and needs to invent new methods to keep uninterested students glued and up for studies.
