Course Curriculum Overview
My course is Production and Industrial Engineering, it's course is similar to mechanical engineering and it also comes under Mechanical Department. This course has diverse opportunities meanwhile the core package is around 8-12 lakhs. This year seats are reduced from 84 to 60. The ratio is decent i.e. 4:1. You will find different types of faculty, mostly helpful with nice teaching. There are 2 semesters in one year. One semester contains 2 mid sem i.e. 15 or 20 marks each and 1 end sem 50 marks and viva, practicals, and assignments.
Internships Opportunities
Different companies like TCS, Google, Microsoft, Adobe, and many more provide internships in 3rd year and placements in 4th year. If you have skills then you will get internships and placements for sure.
Placement Experience
Campus placement takes place 7th sem onwards i.e. in 4th year. Mostly all reputed companies visit the campus. The highest package is 52 lakh and the average is 11 lakhs. The percentage of placement depends on the branch but overall it is 70%. Most probably I will opt for a on-campus placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
98k in 1st semester and 79k in 2nd sem. Mess fees are approx 20k per semester but in 1st semester you have to submit 30k advance and then from 2nd sem 20k. No tuition fee for SC, ST, and students with an annual income of a family less than 1 lakh. And for students with an annual income of family between 1-5 laks only 1/3 Rd of tuition fees is applicable.
Campus Life
The annual Fest is Confluence which takes place in September. The technical fest is Techspardha which takes place in January. Course books and extra books are available by the library, free of cost. Well-furnished classroom with A.C. and smartboard. Very large sports ground with facility for every sport. Swimming pool with a capacity of 50 persons. NCC, NSS, Technical societies of each branch, and clubs for photography, drama, singing, drawing, dancing, SAE, and many more, all run by senior students.
Admission
JEE Main and JEE Advanced are exams for government engineering institutions. For NITs, JEE's main rank is considered in Jossa counseling ( counseling for government engineering institutions is done by Jossa). All information and application form is available on Jossa's official website. Many Reservations benefits are also available which you can check out on the Jossa website. Generally, this counseling takes 2 months.
Other Applied Colleges
National Institute of Technology - [NIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Civil Engineering)
More opportunities in Production and industrial engineering than civil engineering
