Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum at NIT KKR is structured to cover al advanced topics. The curriculum provides strong subjects like data structures and algorithms are well covered. predefined experiments rather than industry-level problem-solving.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college provides a variety of internship opportunities to students, particularly from third year students ranging from 10000 to 1 lac per month depending on role and company. Companies offering internships and roles:- Software and IT:-Microsoft, Google,Amazon ,Infosys offer roles like software developer with a stipend ranging from 40,000 to 1.5 lac Core Engineering:- L&t, Tata steel ,Mahindra provide intern between 10,000 to 30,000 . Research and developement:-Some students got intern at DRDO,ISRO and IIT'S focusing on AI, machie learning and automation with a stipend upto 50k.

Placement Experience

4

Students become elgible for placements after their 7th semester, though many companies also offer internships in the 6th semester that later convert into full time roles. Every year, more than 100 reputed companies visited the campus. Some of the top recruiters include Amazon ,Microsoft ,Google, Adobe, Samsung, Oracle, Infosys. Highest package goes around 50-60 lacs but average depends on branch. For CSE and IT , the average package is around 12-15 lacs , for ECE it is 8-10 lacs and for mechanical, civil it varies from 5 to 10 lacs . The placement percentage is highest for CSE and IT(95%) and other core branches have placement percentage of 60-80 percent.

Fees and Financial Aid

For students with an annual income of more than Rs.5 lakh, the tution fee per semester is approx Rs.92,000 making it Rs. 1,84,000 per year .Additionally, mess and hostel charges amount to approximately Rs. 40,000 per year. To support students financially, several schlorships are available at NIT KKR:- 1)MERIT-CUM-MEANS(MCM) schlorship 2)Post-Matric Scholarship Many other too as NITK ALUMNI schlorship and national schlorship portal. I would suggest you to apply in off campus schlorships too. Many of my friends taking benefit of those schlorships such as FFE ,amazon schlorship and many other which provide around 50,000 to 1,00,000 per semester as a financial help.

Campus Life

3

Campus life at NIT KKR is a mix of academics, extracurricular activities Techspardha, the annual technical fest is held in jan-feb featuring coding challenges, robotics competitions and hackathons. The cultural fest, Confluence(March/April) includes drama, dance, music and literary events. The library has a vast collection of books and research papers.

Admission

The key reason for my choice of NIT KKR college was it has affordable fee structure , good campus cirriculum. Admissions are based on JEE Mains, followed by JOSAA/CSAB counselling. Candidates must have at least 75% in class 12 or be in top 20 percentile of their board. Cutoff and Seat Allocation:- General category:-For cs/it candidate rank must be in 5k-10k. Other branches require less ranking. OBC/EWS/SC/ST : Lower rank benefits due to reservation quota. There is female quota too just to increase boys:girls ratio in engineering colleges. There is state reservation of 50% in all NIT's. Admission Process:- JOSAA counselling:-Students list their prefernces based on JEE rank, and seats are allocated accordingly. Document verification:-Required documents include JEE scorecard, class 10/12th marksheet and income certificate for fee waivers. Pay intial fees and confirm your seat.

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio is 1:15 which allows for decent student interactions.Professors are mostly approachable via email or you can go to their cabin too from 9 am to 6 pm. They are always ready to solve your queries. Students can work on projects under faculty's guidance which helps in research and hands-on learning. We need to give exams thrice in a semester- mid sem 1(15 marks) , mid sem 2(15 marks) and end sem (50 marks) ,10 marks for attendance and 10 marks for internal assessment.

Night Life

3

For girls, the hostel curfew is 8.30 P.M. ,meaning they need to be inside the hostel area by this time. However they can place orders from domino's and other food outlets and recieve them at berry gate by 10 p.m. The parlour, gym and canteen are in hostel premises, ensuring accessibility for female students. The canteen timings are 4.30 P.M. to 12.00 AM and parlour timings are 9.00 A.M. to 11.30 P.M. and gym is open all time.

Infrastructure and facilities are well maintained and can be given five stars. Teaching and curriculum still need to be updated to make every student future ready rather than a bookworm or a crammer. The coding environment is still less and needs to be improved.
