Remarks

The overall experience in the college is good.If the college management reduces the academic workload on the students then this college would be one of the best colleges throughout the nation

Entrance Preview

As per my knowledge admission is through CET, COMED-K or management. I got seat through CET .I didn't knew much about this college before joining except that it is one of the top colleges of Karnataka. There is no interview but after getting seat you should come to college for document verification and thereby confirming your seat. I chose Electronics and Communication because i like electronics and wanted to know more about this subject.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course was not that good as i excepted because the main focus was given on mugging up theory without understanding the practical use of it. The EC course is very hectic. There a lot a labs and Tutorials. Especially in the third year we have to projects in almost all subjects and even for labs we have do separate projects. There are no Research Initiatives taken by the Institute as of now

Internships Opportunities

The placement cell provides some internships .The internships are usually after 4th year and hence i don't know much about it.

Placement Experience

4

The placements are very good. In our department around 80-90% of the students who have applied for placements will get placed (including both mass and core companies) .The average package in our department is around 5 lakhs per anum. The maximum package from our department is around 15 lks/anum .Usually software companies provide higher pay compared to core electronics companies.

College Events

3.5

Our college associations like IEEE-SJCE, CSI, LCC, ED-BOARD conducts various technical events .Also we have my annual cultural fest called JAYCIANA which is usually held in the month of April. Jayciana is mainly organised by the student council along with the help of college authorities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

In the 1st and 2nd year the fee structure was normal but after the implementation of GST the fees has increased by approximately 20k i.e for the 1st two years i used to pay Rs.48k as my annual fees but for 3rd year i paid Rs.69,980.Again the fees mainly depends on the mode of admission .Like for example if u join through SNQ (Super numerary Quota) in CET then your fees will be around 20k and if u join through COMED-K ,the fees will be usually around 1.5k.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as i know there are no scholarships provided by the college but u can apply to various scholarships provided by the governments through the college.

Campus Life

3

In our college, we have a separate football and hockey ground and also we have the basketball court, tennis court, badminton court and also we have a gymnasium. Our college has excelled in the various sports events. Its a good college with a vast campus. The ambiance is good. The college mainly focuses on academics with the little emphasis on extra-curricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

3

I stay in Hostel. Our hostel is clean since it is new and hence the ambiance is good .There is no single rooms in our hostel and also there are no attached bathrooms for the rooms. There are number of PG's near the college .The hostel fees is around 60k per annum .The food quality is decent but you will get bored after 1st year since the menu is same throughout the week and like any other hostel lite you will u prefer eating at hotels rather than eating at your hostel mess.

Exam Structure

As far i know only our college in our entire state has 5 internals for one semester i.e we have 3 written tests and the other 2 may be quiz, seminar, projects, case study etc. This means that you will have written exams every 1st week of a month and then you will have these quizzes ,project submissions in between the 2 consecutive exams. Finally u will have a Semester End Exam (SEE) in the end of each semester. Both the internal and SEE will have equal weight age.

Faculty

3.5

Like any other college there are some faculties who are well versed in their respective domains and also there are some faculties who know very little about about their subject. In our department there are quite a lot of faculties with Ph.d degrees.Again the higher qualifications does not means better teaching. Some faculties are very interactive and help students in their curricular and co-curricular activities and you can approach them without hesitating but also some faculties who gets annoyed when students ask questions during their lecture.

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Placement Experience:

Most of the students get placed from the campus placements. Students get eligible for campus placements from the fifth semester. Companies like HP, Infosys, Wipro come for recruiting and make offers from 3L per annum to 30 L per annum. Around 70 percent of the students get placed through campus placement. I plan on working for a dream company after completing my degree.

Placement Experience:

I applied to colleges like BMSIT and Sir MVIT, and I had confirmed seats there, too. I chose RNSIT because it has a better reputation for placements in my branch and the campus environment felt more welcoming. I didn't get into RVCE because my KCET rank wasn't high enough for their top branches, as the competition was very tough that year. The admission process is simple. They mainly take students through KCET and COMEDK. You need at least 45% in your 12th boards (PCM). Most students prefer KCET because the fees are lower. Once the seat is allotted through counseling, you just visit the campus, submit your documents, and pay the fees. The whole process was quite smooth and well-organized."

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.
