Course Curriculum Overview :
When I completed the course I was awarded Degree in Computer Application, Mathematics and Statistics which increased my opportunities when compared to a graduate of BCA or BSc Mathematics. Our class consisted of 29 students from both Computer Science and Biology Science backgrounds. Our Department consisted of 7 professors, who were proficient in their field. All the Associate Professors had completed their Post Graduation. They taught us, not lectured but taught us. They put their maximum effort into completing the syllabus on time, giving us samples & previous year's question papers and taking regular tests and thus tracking our studies. Since it is an Autonomous institution's exam schedule was followed correctly hence the results of each semester were out within 2 weeks from the start of the next semester.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I had not applied for any scholarship and hence do not know the correct details regarding this matter. Since it was a self-financing course, the fee structure was a little different compared to the aided courses. I paid Rs 42000 per year, 24000 for odd and 18000 for even semesters. These are only course fees. We had examination fees of around Rs 910 per sem.
Campus Life :
The campus life was really awesome. There wasn't a single day without some kind of program happening in our college. The college gives great importance to cultural fests as a result we took the overall championship in most of the Kalotsavams(State level]. The college's most awaited fest happens in November, The Teresian week, where every year competes for the title. This is a 6-day fest with 3 days offstage and 3 days onstage events. There are around 13 clubs, Student Union, and different cells like IQAC, Grievance cell, Disciple Anti-Ragging & Deaddiction cell, Minority monitoring cell & Counselling Cell. The 13 clubs and the Student Union is run by the Students under the mentoring of professors, whereas the different cell is under the leadership of teaching staff which selected Student members are a part. The library has a diverse collection of both academic and non-academic books, covering a wide range of subjects. It also has a number of online resources.
Admission :
The admission process was purely based on the XIIth examination marks. The course is BSc Computer Applications[Triple Main], when we complete the course, we will be getting degrees in Computer Applications, Mathematics and Statistics hence can pursue our career in any of these fields. An online application was available for the course. There was an application fee which I don't remember now. The fees, for the course, when I was studying there were around 42,000 per year which was divided into 32,000 for odd and 18000 for even sem. During admissions, I was required to pay the first sem fees. Any student who has taken the Science stream with Mathematics in their XIIth can apply for this course.
