Our college library is so good and also have ac in it
College cateen have so tasty foods and the tea is awesome
Our classrooms are so good and clean and always maintained hygene

Dislikes

College campus is so small and we dont have any auditorium
Toilets are not always clean and specially the toilets in the girls common room
I dont have anything norw that i dont like about thus college

I chose this course because I love this subject..Students are at around 30 in our department ...Teachers teaches us with extra care ..Semester exams held after every six months ...We need to give the exams in a different college ..So if you study well you will surely pass the exams with a good number of marks.

Class Size: 1344Course Fees: INR 7200 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

As this college is a government college so the fees is low..like I took Zoology honors and it includes practical classes so my fees is at around 7200..The subjects without practicals are of low fees .. I got Swami Vivekananda Scholarship from campus.

Campus Life

Campus life is very good..Students of the college are very good so I have a good social life there ..They conduct fest at every occasion..We have NACC in our college..we have a library where we can sit and study also we can take books from there..Classrooms are big and very clean tho

Admission

To take admission in this college you no need to give any entrance exam..You just have to get a good number of marks in your higher secondary exam..I got 79% and got admission..The college is really nice ..Got prizes for being one of the best government colleges of West Bengal..One can find the application forms application fees and dates in the college website only...The college is very strict about students attendance and studies ..Teachers are very good.

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

There was only 3 better colleges I couldn't apply to. They were St.Xaviers Kolkata, Goenka and Maulana Azad. Seth Anandram Jaipuria College is among the top 5 colleges and is well known. It is also the best college in North Kolkata, some might not agree to me though. The deciding factors for me were very low fees, decent quality teachers, and the most important, quality of crowd and reputation of the college.
