- Jamia is affortable. Like if you have five, six thousand rupees you can easily stay, paying rent and for food.
Dislikes
- The thing I do not like is all the students do not get the hostels. It become little difficult to find a good roma few you are new to Delhi.
- Lastly, they have to make there placements better. Leaving few courses, there is almost no placements for other courses.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have chosen this course because I was in the commerce field in 10+2, I wanted to do something in business and management and I wanted to do MBA. The faculty-to-student ratio is good. The faculty have done master's and PhD from top colleges and universities. The teaching method is also good with a deep understanding of the concepts. The first semester exams were delayed due to late admissions but the second semester was timely conducted. And The difficulty of the exams is moderate, as to say if you have studied well you will score well.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible for placements from the 3rd semester. Companies like Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Mahindra, Samsung R&D and many more come for placements. But placements are mostly for two courses BTech and MBA. Other courses get very less placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
Jamia Millia Islamia comes under the central government so its fees are much lower than the private colleges. The fee for BBA for one year is 13300 rupees. So, it is around 40000 rupees for 3 years. The hostel fee is around 15000 rupees a year excluding mess charges. So, the cost of studying is low considering the Delhi University colleges where the fees of BMS for three years range from 30000 to 100000. The college provides many scholarships for students who are not financially strong. The placements for BBA are not very good but companies do come
Campus Life
The Campus of Jamia is on 250 acres of land. The infrastructure is very good. The campus life is also very good. There are many fests conducted in the college generally in the month of March. Some of them include Ecocracy, Ma'ashiyaat, etc. There are also many clubs in the college. They include Enactus, GirlUp, E-Cell, Psynch, GAEE, Placement Cell, 180dc, JGC(Jamia Gaming Club), Maths Geeks, and FIC(Financial and Investment Cell. The college has one of the biggest collections of books. Other than that it also has journals, Magazines, newspapers, research papers, etc. The college has a sports complex where you can play Cricket, Basketball, Football, Table Tennis, and many other games.
Hostel Facilities
There is one thing said about the hostels of Jamia "It is easy to get admission in Jamia than to get in its hostel". Almost all the girls get the hostel but for boys, the ratio is 1:5. There is a whole process to get hostels which includes 1-)Marks in 12th, 2-)Distance between hometown and Jamia, 3-)Seniority in University, 4-)Economic status, 5-)NCC and 6-)Interview. The food quality is better than most other colleges. There is always a veg and non-veg option. The food is provided three times Breakfast, lunch and Dinner. During Ramzan, food is also provided for sehri and iftar. The hostel rooms are mostly two-seaters, a few are three seater and there is also a dormitory, where five to six beds are there. The room has a bed, a cupboard and a study table and chair.
Admission
I applied for the course BBA(Bachelor of Business Administration) in Jamia Millia Islamia. The application forms are live between March-April. The eligibility criteria require maximum age of 21 years and 60% marks in 12th. You can apply for the curse on their website www.jmicoe.in. The application fee is around 600 rupees and exams are conducted in the month of May. Leaving a few exams, all the other exams are conducted at the university in Delhi. So, wherever you life you have to come to Delhi. The exam consists of 100 questions carrying 1 mark each and if you choose the wrong option 0.25 marks will be deducted.
