Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is what you would expect from Under graduation. The student ratio is also fair, In my batch it was 6:4 for male and female respectively. Faculty members are all well-qualified and have an abundance of knowledge. Exams for all DU colleges are aligned together irrespective of college and are based on a semester basis. Each year has two-semester exams.
Internships Opportunities
I got the opportunity to work with Digi marks although couldn't get into the actual work. It was related to digital marketing. In particular, I didn't get any other option or opportunity for an internship to work for.
Placement Experience
The placement team is very helpful and guides us for various opportunities. Internship Fare is also held in college for all students. But since my batch was hit by Covid 19, the placement was not something I can highlight as a good point.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is average as per the facility they provide and we have one of the biggest libraries among all other DU colleges. Multiple scholarship opportunities are available on the college website. You can find it in detail by going through the same.
Campus Life
The annual fest of Shivaji College is in Anchorage. I was part of it in my 2nd and 3rd years and I must say, It is one of the most exciting times of the year. It is conducted in February of every year. An abundance of books is available to issue from the college library. There are different clubs such as KAIZEN which represent commerce society.
Admission
Admission was based on the cut-off percentage of Delhi University. There are several lists that DU releases every year based on which students are admitted into their choice of college based on the marks they have obtained in 12th Standard. I got into Shivaji College in the 5th list as the cut-off percentage is usually high for the general category. My Best 4 score was 89%. Multiple colleges of DU offer a percentage waiver for female students and that helped as well. For me, In 2017, I got a 1% cut-off waived. Another reservation category provides benefits as well. Students from sports backgrounds can also avail the available options to get admission.
