Remarks
Apart from the Placement cell, the whole administration is good, people are really helpful. If the college can manage a proper placement cell, then the whole college department will be great.
Entrance Preview
I took the Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University examination in 2008 which used to happen around the last week of May at that time. My rank was 5151, I got this college in 2nd counselling since I was late in 1st counselling. The usual opening and closing rank are around 2000 and 8000 respectively. The counselling takes place around the month of July and the you can join college in the month of August to complete all the remaining formality.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is strictly kept under check. The course is almost similar to those top notched college like IITs etc. The faculty is as per the government norms that is UPSC qualified. The Dean and Principal both are Ex-es of DCE (as that of 2008-2012). The college is said to be affiliated to IPU, but comes under the jurisdiction of the Govt. of NCT, so all the admin decision are taken by government only.
Internships Opportunities
No, the college itself doesn't have or help in any of these types of stuff. The student himself has to be arrange or take care for whatever training or internship he/she has to be undergo.
Placement Experience
The college to lack hugely in terms of proper Placement Cell. In 2012, it might be due to recession, only a few students were placed in all the three branches. Rest were left and were forced to look for petty job in market. But, as the recession fades away so do the placement percentage increased.
College Events
Since the college is a bit new and have a very odd location in almost corner of a secluded village near Haryana Border, where evening is the closing time for everything including college fest. So, college could only a few fest around the fest due to security concern and timing issues.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The best part of the college is fees, since it is government. The fees is almost very low in comparison to other private colleges. At my time the college fees was just 33000 per year, while private were 80000 - 100000 per year. Moreover, there were also scholarship almost every can get.
Fees and Financial Aid
Colleges do provide all types of scholarship. Loan facility was also there, every bank give the loan as the college is renowned in the nearby areas.
Campus Life
Campus life is good. Since the college is in the outskirts of delhi, the area around the college is really green and open. Many types of extracurricular activities are done including sports, fest etc. But don't expect much from the college. It may not be as good in terms of extra activities as other colleges.
Hostel Facilities
Since the college was new and area was really odd, no hostel facility was provided from college side. But, college did manage a tie up with another government college in dwarka (a bit far almost 1hr via bus) for hostel facility. That hostel and mess were good. Also, there are many PG's available now nearby college renting around 3k-5k.
Alumni/Alumna
Since the college was opened in 2007, not many batches have passed till now. So, no such alumni network has been created till now. It will be done as the time passes.
Exam Structure
The Exam and lab structure were defined as per the university norms. The labs were good and the helper and instructors were really helpful all the time. At the end of the day, you may be tired but when you came out after you know that you have learnt at least something. So, in short none of the lab was just a formality. They can always be enjoyed.
Admission
At the time of counselling, all the formalities like verification of the documents, admit card and deposit of the fees that is maximum for private colleges - Rs. 53000 and government colleges - Rs. 33000 (in 2008). Then the central counselling will provide you a receipt of the same, which will be submitted in college.
Faculty
The faculty is as per the government norms that is UPSC qualified. The Dean and Principal both are Ex-es of DCE (as that of 2008-2012). Since the college is in out-skirts of Delhi that is Haryana border, and due to that the environment is a bit of the harsh side. So, only a few UPSC qualified teacher continue their teaching in the college, other teacher are also good and do belong to the good college, but all are either on contract or part-time.
