Government Engineering College, Patan was established in April 2004 with three branches Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering each with intake of 60 each.
- It is a post-secondary engineering college located in Katpur village near Patan,Gujarat, India.
- The institute was initially functioning in the premises of the K. D. Polytechnic, Patan temporarily. It was shifted to its own newly built up green premise in August 2008 at Katpur village on Chanasma-Patan road 8 kms before Patan.
- Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering each with intake of 60 were introduced from June-2009 and the intake of all three existing branches were increased to 120. Currently, Institute functions with total intake of 480 in five different branches.

Facilities:-
- Hostel: College has two separate hostel block for Girls and Boys. Each block has the capacity of 120 students with total capacity of 240 students. Total 40 rooms are available in each block and each room will be shared by 3 students. The hostel with facilities of RO / filter plant for drinking water, 24 hours water supply,24 hours security.
- Laboratories: Laboratories are well-equipped with all instruments. Labs are provided with all required equipments and each department having their own computer labs.
- Workshop: A separate building is provided for workshop.
- Libraries: On the basis of quality education, the library of the institute has been developed quite efficiently by the supportive faculties and is being updated constantly in order to avail our student's maximum knowledge and provide them a base to explore the future. It helps to keep the students updated with the latest technology and trends.
- Internet: 24x7 days high speed broadband internet facility.
- Student Amenities: Gymkhana building is available for gymkhana activities. The students conduct sports, indoor games, social services, culture activities, debates, etc. in it. Blood donation camps are regularly organized in the campus.
- Canteen: The canteen provides hygienic food to the students and staff at reasonable rates. All the basic food amenities are available here.
