Government Engineering College was established in the year 2004. It is approved from AICTE.
- The institute is affiliated with Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), Surat and Gujarat Technological University (GTU), Ahmedabad.
- There are five Engineering disciplines Mechanical Engineering,Chemical Engineering Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering & Environment Engineering with total intake capacity of 420 students.

- Admission in the College is given by Joint Admission Committee, Ahmedabad as per the Merit marks of 12th Science Exam & GUJCET Exam. Government of Gujarat has spent around 16 Crores rupees for the construction of the building and laboratory development.
- The students are well accepted by industries like ESSAR, Wipro, Atul chemical, Dipak nitrite and L&T.

Saptdhara: (Independence day celebration)
Various events were organized under Seven Bands of SAPTA DHARA during current year’s Independence Day celebration.
In the month of August, the program of SAPTDHARA envisioned by GTU swept the students creativity off to a different level.
The SAPTDHARA were divided into 8 bands, namely the Creative Band, Knowledge Band, Fine Arts Band, Dance and Music Band, Theatre Band, Sports and Yoga Band, Community Band and Videography and Reporting Band.

Hostel:-
At GEC, hostel is a “home away from home”. The hostel is with well furnished rooms with all the necessary facilities and amenities. The hostel is within the campus thus offers secured abode. The first aid facility is available within campus and a hospital is also located nearby. Institute offers separate hostel facility for boys and girls. There are total two blocks dedicated to Boys Hostel and One block dedicated for Girls hostel. Each hostel has spacious and well furnished rooms.

Admission:
The admission process was based on percentage of board exams in 12 and Gujcet Exam. The merit was created and college and course we're allocated based on merit. The whole process was online. There were only three rounds for admission, it should be increased for admission for students.

- The green campus is provided by which we get inspired about the environment protection.
- Facility for canteen and the same canteen also woks as mesh for the students in hostel.
Dislikes
- Egoistic nature of some faculties which gets the students moral power down.
- Lack of paractical knowledge due to non working equipments.

Admission:
The admission process of the colleges under the Gujrat Technological University (GTU) is generally an online process. This process is carried out in three rounds even after that if the seats are vacant then offline forms have to be filled for admissions. The online process is carried out through the website of the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat. (https://acpc.gujarat.gov.in). The entrance exam for admissions in the technical Courses especially B.E/B.TECH is GUJCET which is taken by the Gujarat State education board. Eligibility criteria for admissions depend upon the course you select and vary from year to year.

- In rainy season sometimes water is there in campus.

Eligibility of course: According to the 12th board result. First of all, we have to fill out the form of acpc in online mode, then according to rounds the result has been declared, there are 3or4 or rounds there. The application fee is 1500 and dates are declared by acpc guidelines.

- The government clg circular is very late
- Exam dates are given before the exam of 8 days

Got a High Percentage into the 12th STD. Acpc form has to be filled for Gujarat gov college admission. Government college has great work and experience to study and it's not like other government colleges of States.

The admission process was a bit longer compared to other programs... Our admission process was conducted by acpc and the admission process took almost 2 months after the declaration of our results..for the sc st and obc candidates reservation facilities are also available.

My college does not have any eligibility for the course. but the 12th percentage Is very important. first, we apply on Acpc after that we choose the colleges. After that the eligibility of your percentage. After that, the Admission in my college threw Acpc the come to college and take Admission form fill the form And After thAt we pay the college fees by online. then our Admission is Approved. No reservation benefits.

The overall admission process was too smooth and easy because, in Gujarat, the admission process for engineering courses is online hence it was too smooth and I'm from an open category so no detail about reservation but sure that process was also too smooth.

Well admission was based upon the meri and mine was around 1200 in the whole Gujarat but as I stand under the OBC category I get the admission under open Catagory and the age should be under 22 I guess I'm not sure in it but marks should be better so your merit would be higher.

GTU releasing the seat for every government colleges and private sector. For my college, every category has different criteria for admission. The cutoff for the SC/ST student was 16000 and the SEBC student around 10000. The counsellor takes the students documents who are selected for GEC, VALSAD college in the document they take a bank passbook xerox (gov. issued bank), admission latter(GTU gave us its an online generated),10th/12th mark sheet xerox, residency proof, students adhar card and also student signature it must be very important for whole years. My college is a government and their fees are also less every student will be taking a chance for government college. My college also provided hostels for girls and boys and in hostel cleaning is too good.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The syllabus is a little old and was not updated till last semester. However, new students have a lot more new topics and subjects to choose from. Also, the faculties are really supportive and friendly. Dr. Sudani sir was one of the most knowledgeable teacher. He is the founder of eco-club of our college.
