Remarks

There is nothing bad about my college. As it had helped me a lot to grow and see the world in a better way. Management is very kind and thinks alot about the future of their children. Thanks everyone for helping me and many more like me to stand their on feet.

Entrance Preview

CET Punjab. I got a average rank but got admission in supports quota. This was my third college as I was trying to get into a good college. When I got a opportunity for CGC landran I grabbed it. Admission process was quite simple. I had chosen this course because my father wanted to study because of many reasons he couldn't. So he wanted me to fulfill his dream and be independent.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

It was good. There were highly qualified faculty which were able to make us understand the concepts more clearly. Even Hod of the department used to teach. It was fun spending all day in college. Bunking classes of course. Failing in sessionals and getting good marks in exams

Internships Opportunities

Yes. Our college did provide the internship to students. I could not get because of one supply./back I had in one exam. My friends came to gurgaon for training in Motorola and some of them were placed as well.

Placement Experience

5

It was awesome. I have seen people struggling for jobs outside who didn't get on campus placements. I used to live with my friends and all of them had more than 2 - 3 offers from good companies like Infosys, wipro, Verizon, Ericsson. Indian Army /Navy also visited for college for placements.

College Events

5

They used to organise many events technical and non technical. Road trips dance events and the management was highly appreciated because they used to spend alot of money for inviting the singer and bands for entertainment of the students. They also used to held supports tournaments and encouraging students to participate in it. Bhangra of CGC was quite famous.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was not cheap I would say. But affordable as well. There were many schemes like if parents don't earn more than 3 lacs they will get concession in fee. Hostels were bit expensive but never felt bad about that because of the facilities provided in them. Free wifi and the food was the best thing in it.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes of course. For the toppers there was something 5000 rupee extra concession which they used to get. I was never a topper so never got that money sadly. But my group was full of toppers so they had enjoyed with that money.

Campus Life

5

Campus ratio was equal. Boys and girls both were treated equally. Practicals in the labs were the most fun part. Teachers were helpful. Whenever you need help just go and talk to them. As I was in ECE, got a chance to work on a project which was related on transmission of signals. Digital display in which there was one sender and one receiver. Overall it was a good learning.

Hostel Facilities

5

It was good. It was three sharing mostly. It was highly cleaned and food served was good. Never felt like I was staying away from my family. Wifi was available all the time. Rooms used to get cleaned daily. Process of going home was good too. You have to take permission from the warden and fill the forms that I am going today and will return on that day.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were always fun. Some of them are good singers now. Some of them guided for doing something extra. I met one senior in the same company where I am currently working. It is always good if there is someone senior to guide you.

Exam Structure

The toughest thing of four years. It was the exams. After sessional exams they used to send the report to our native places which caused a lot of trouble for me. It helped actually. The fear of my father and his threats that he will not pay the next semester fee if I didn't get goof marks. It helped a lot.

Admission

Admin process was through Punjab Technical University Jalandhar. We had to visit there for counselling then later visited campus. It was like wow what a beautiful college. We had already heard about the college as my father was more worried about my college. We went to administration unit and filled the forms and same day got hostel accommodation as well.

Faculty

5

CGC has highly qualified faculty. Teachers were kind and smart to each the tough concepts. Extra classes and practicals in the labs. It never felt like someone is forcing you to study. That good experience I had. Still in touch with few of them. Because today if I am doing something good it's because of them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

From the begning i was always into tech and computers i liked to make my school persentation on my pc and that's the main reason for taking the stream CSE . The curriculum makes you ready for thr real world application by providing classes for eveything that a student is facing problem. If you ask me for the suggestion then some teachers should change their tecahing methods so that they will help the student in a better way . The frequency and timing of the exam goes like the college conducts two internal exams for the internal marks known as MST and one final exam and the difficulty level is medium

Placement Experience:

In LPU placement process usually start from 6th semester onwards. Many good companies come to campus like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, Amazon and few product based also. Some startups also visit. The no. of offers are quite large every year because batch size is big. Highest package I heard was around 40 LPA but that is very rare, only 1-2 students get. Average package is around 5–6 LPA for CSE branch. For other branches it is little bit low. Almost 80-85% students who are seriously preparing gets placement from college. College also provide placement training and soft skills classes which help in interviews.
