Remarks

To conclude I would say that my experiences in my college life is memorable and and it's too good to remember those days. Even some faculties I won't forget my whole life specially D.B. Fakaruddin, V Shivaprasad, R Venkatesh, Rashmi Mam, TRVP, H S Sridhara. I loved my 4th year as VP of the department, took a lot of lessons and memorable memories in that tim

Entrance Preview

Comed-K I scored 82 in the exam and I wanted a core engineering department with a good college. I enquired a lot and at last came took admission college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Curriculum was very much according to the GATE pattern and apart from that various co-curricullum activities are also motivated such as Robotics, Debating Society, Dramatics, Dance and various Technical and Non-Technical groups. We are also supported in various ways such as theoretically, practically, financially and academically. I represented my college in various different places across the country like IIT-Bombay, BITS-Pilani and regional colleges. An aviation group goes to USA every year and participates in an international level compitition and has does very well in that compitition every year. The Debating Society also does very well job and is much appreciated by the principal. We have various Technical groups and have their individual labs as Club of Robotics (CORSIT), SOARING EAGLE, BAJA, IEEE, SUPRA. Several Technical events which includes departmental technical fests such as TECHNISIUM, INTRUMENTRIX, BROWSE etc. and many other fests by technical groups are also organised such as ROBOCORE, IDEEEAS etc are also organised which keeps on motivating students to be active in various fields and keeps them involved into newer technologies along with the necessary curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, when I was in college I think 2 or 3 companies came to provide internship. Companies are FIRE EYE and RED BUS. They both have stipend of 25000 and had to work on Saturdays and Sundays for 6 months.

Placement Experience

4

Training and placement department also did their job very well. We were given training in 2nd year and 4th year so that we could do well in the placements. The conduction of the selection process for the various companies were also very good and unbiased. More than 80 percent of the students were placed. The companies like TCS, ACCENTURE, ORACLE, REDBUS, FIRE EYE, OTIS and many more visits our college and have a very good impression on them.

College Events

4

Every individual department has its own technical event such as TECHNISIUM, INTRUMENTRIX, BROWSE, ROBOCORE, IDEEEAS etc. which motivated students to participate and be up to date with the new advancement in the technologies and various cultural festivals were also organised of which HALCYON was the most important. This was the most celebrated event of the college and still the most impressive event of college. It has both technical and non-technical events in it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was divided into many categories. Students from outer states (other than karnataka) had to pay 156000 approx. per year which excludes hostel charges of 55000 appox. Students of general category of karnataka had to pay only 55000 approx per annum and hostel charges were 55000 approx. Some other category students were exempted from fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship from college was given but to me or a general category student. Some financially weak students were exempted from fees provided they belong to karnataka only.

Campus Life

3.5

I loved and enjoyed my college life to my fullest. Gender ratio varied from department to department. In mechanical only 1 girl student was there while in architecture girls were in majority. In my department of 70 students approx 20 were girls. Student parties were organised but like fresher's, graduation and on departmental fests. Various groups, both technical and non-technical held their individual event or workshop and educated juniors and passed their knowledge for further advancement. One thing that I didn't like about karnataka that they didn't like people from northern states to come there and stay. Other than that no major problem was there. No gender inequality. Karnataka students had various groups region wise, that should not happen and must be discouraged. No religious or racial discrimination was in my college. Some politicas is always in every field so it didn't bother me much. Economic status also didn't matter as we all were friendly and stayed as a family.

Hostel Facilities

3

The quality of rooms of 1st, 2nd, and 4th year hostel was quite good and is still very well fitted in my memories and I loved them but 3rd year hostel was not good. Same with the food. Food quality of 1st 2nd and 4th year was good enough. Specially 1st tear food was good but it degraded day by day and 3rd year hostel food was horrible. We even found cockroaches in it thrice.

Alumni/Alumna

There was enough interaction between the seniors but not with the alumni. As I was in Club of Robotics I got to know alot from my seniors, learned alot from them and passed then to juniors.

Exam Structure

Exam pattern were very much like other IITs and NITs. I had friends who studied in IIT-BHU and MNIT-Jaipur and their exam pattern was similar to ours. In every subjects we were given 4 assignments 4 quizzes 2 Internals 1 external in every semester. Apart from these there were Mini-project in 3rd year and Major-project in 4th year.

Admission

My rank was about 7800. I visited the counselling centre in Bangalore where I gave 3 options and the best one available was allowed to me. Thus I got EEE in my college in 2nd counselling. After that I went to college and completed the admission process.

Faculty

4

The faculty members of my college were very much experienced and have a lot of knowledge and supported us a lot so that we could have very good knowledge about the context and they care a lot about our future and we got a quality education over there.

Placement Experience:

Students in my college have a very good amount of campus placements where students become eligible from the final year 7th semester however the placement cell starts training from the 1st year means 1st semester itself like training for aptitude test, coding and mock interviews. Top it companies like TCS infosys, wipro, Accenture, capgemini, cognizant, IBM, tech mahindra mind tree. The campus receives 300+ offers. The average package 8 - 10 LPA and highest package 54 LPA. Every year 90% students are placed. After my degree i am planning to higher studies in abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is generally detailed and aligned with industry Expectations but there is still scope for modernisation in certain areas.Overall i would like to rate 8/10. The syllabus include both theoretical and multiple lab components which ensures hands on learning. The practical labs like programming work and project with learning help students understand how concepts are applied in real work places. A few theory heavy subjects feel outdated and no longer match the current industry demand this could be revised or replaced.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester, but the overall placement scenario in DSCE for CSE is below average. Not even 50% of students get placed in good companies. Most students end up getting offers from mass recruiters or in sales and non-tech roles. Only a small percentage of top performers get decent technical packages. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, Cognizant, and a few mid-tier companies visit the campus, but the number of high-package, core-tech roles is very limited. The average package is on the lower side compared to other top COMEDK colleges. Because of this, many students plan for higher studies, certification courses, or off-campus drives after completing the degree. The on-campus placement support definitely needs improvement, especially for technical roles.”

The students who are studying in 7th semester ( final year) are eligible for campus placements but before that in 5th semester there is pre placement training like aptitude everything. Top companies visit for placement like TCS , infosys, wipro, accenture, capegemini, IBM, techmahindra, Mindtree. Average there are 150-250 offers. Average package is 7-8 lpa. The highest package is 54 lpa at botify company. 85 % of students get placed at cse branch and ai amd ml and civil 30 - 50% . Overall 80% students gets placed. My plan is join a top product based company liek google with a good life.
