Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Since the school is new, it lacks some facilities. The school has to hire faculties from other institutes (IITs or NITs or any other GFTIs). All the faculties currently teaching here are highly qualified. Most of them are Ph.D. from IITs. However, the papers are up to the course and depend on the faculties and what they have taught in the class.

Placement Experience

3

As I already discussed earlier, the school of engineering is too new( established in 2018 ). Still, the placement of the first two batches is pretty good, with an average package of 8 LPA. The highest package offered was 16LPA. However, some students cracked off-campus placements too, with a CTC of 33LPA. On average, there is a 70% placement. Once you get into JNU, you can't be sure that you end up being in the corporate sector. Many students from the school of engineering are preparing for UPSC and MBA. Some opted for a language course. Yup, who knows when you'll get to know your interest. I think JNU is the best place to explore what you want to pursue.

Fees and Financial Aid

JNU is known for its low fees and good education. So the school of engineering tried to catch the same. The semester fees for general students with no financial aid is roughly 70k, excluding the hostel and mess fees. Mess fees vary per month ranging from 3.5k to 4k. There are several state scholarships given. One can know about it on the website.

Campus Life

4

If I say about JNU, then it's heaven, what can one imagine amid New Delhi. Full of greenery and social life. There are various schools and centers here. You get to interact with many interesting people. Not only engineering, but you also get to involve in many social activities too. There are many clubs here. Loop- developer club, cold - coding club, de'robotica, baila amour - dance club, drushyam - arts and pictures, bandish - music club, and many more. There is a website under development, which will be solely run by the students.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are good enough. What can you expect for just 2.8k/annum fees. The mess and the food are also good here. For the hostel allotment, you have to take clearance from the administration. Then per semester registration is done at the hostel only.

Admission

Jawaharlal Nehru University offers engineering courses since 2018. It offers two branches Computer science and Electronics. You can get admission through JEE mains. The whole information about the school of engineering can be found on the website of the school of engineering, JNU. There is no girl reservation in the admission process. While there is a normal category reservation. The whole admission is done through JEE mains. Once the results are out, the candidate has to report to the school of engineering, JNU for the verification and admission process.

The fifth semester students become eligible for campus placements. The College organise placement, registration and shortlisting based on academic performance and semester marks. Many well-known companies visit the campus for hiring every year, including both mass recruitment and profile based offers students get opportunities in core companies as well as IT and consulting firms, the highest package offered in recent years has been competitive, and the average package is decent for most . A good percentage of students manage to secure placement through campus drives, but it also depends on students preparation and skill level students also get internships into placement offers. If a student does not get a campus placement, there are still good options for employability students to prepare for off campus placement, government exams or higher studies like Masters. Overall the placement environment is active and give students affair chance to start their careers.
