Course Curriculum Overview
The BTECH in Information Technology with a specialization in Network and Information Security course curriculum at the Netaji Subhas University of Technology, Delhi is comprehensive and up-to-date, covering various aspects of information technology, networking, and information security. The faculty members are highly qualified and experienced, using various teaching methods to make learning interactive and engaging. I chose this course due to my interest in the field of information technology and my desire to specialize in network and information security. The faculty: student ratio is good, and the faculty members are highly qualified, with most having a PhD or M.Tech degree. Term exams are conducted on time and are moderate to highly difficult, requiring consistent effort and preparation from students. Overall, I am satisfied with the course curriculum and faculty members.
Internships Opportunities
During internships, students get the opportunity to work on real-life projects and gain practical experience in their field of study. The companies and roles offered under internships may vary from year to year based on the needs of the industry. The projects assigned to students during their internships could range from software development, network analysis, security testing, data analysis, and more
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements, and companies from various sectors visit the campus to recruit students for various profiles. Some of the top recruiters who visit the campus include Microsoft, Amazon, Google, IBM, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL, and many others. In the last placement season, the university witnessed a 100% placement record, with more than 150 companies visiting the campus and making over 600 offers. The highest package offered was around INR 1.25 crore per annum, and the average package offered was around INR 12 LPA. The profiles offered ranging from software development, data analytics, cybersecurity, network engineering, and many others. As for my plans after completing the course, I am looking forward to applying for campus placements and securing a job in a reputed organization

The classrooms, labs and computer centre at NSUT are well-equipped with modern amenities, including projectors, Wi-Fi, and air-conditioning, providing a comfortable learning experience for students. The campus of NSUT provides various sports and extracurricular activities for students, including football, basketball, badminton, and cricket and the university has a dedicated sports complex. There are also various social groups and clubs run by students, including the Robotics Club, the Literary Society, and the Entrepreneurship Club.
Hostel Facilities
I have opted for rented accommodation near the campus. However, the university does provide hostel facilities for students who prefer to stay on campus. The hostel rooms at NSUT are well-furnished and provide basic amenities such as a bed, study table, chair, and cupboard. The rooms are spacious and well-ventilated, providing a comfortable living experience for students. The hostels also have Wi-Fi connectivity, laundry facilities, and 24-hour security, ensuring the safety and comfort of the students. In terms of the meal quality and menu, the university's mess provides nutritious and hygienic meals for the students. The menu is diverse and caters to the dietary requirements of students from various regions and cultures. The mess staff maintains cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining area, ensuring a healthy and safe environment for students. The registration process for the hostel is straightforward and can be done online through the university's website.
Admission
The admission process for BTECH at Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) was quite smooth and streamlined. I had to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, which is a national-level entrance exam for engineering courses in India. The application process for JEE Main was online. After the JEE Main result was announced, I had to apply separately for NSUT through the university's official website. The application form was also available online. The cut off for admission to NSUT varies every year and is determined based on various factors like the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the availability of seats. In general, candidates who score a rank within the top 2,000-3,000 in JEE Main are eligible for admission to NSUT. Regarding the eligibility criteria, a candidate must have passed their 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and should have secured at least 60% aggregate marks in these subjects.
