Course Curriculum Overview
computer science in iit delhi opens a wide variety of career choices and opportunities. the faculty is very considerate of our doubts. in some lectures, the class size is very big for example 300. however, that doesn't mean that the professor doesn't pay attention to our individual doubts. it is always an option to go up to them personally or write an email regarding any issue. we also have academic mentors to help us cope with the curriculum. in the first year due to covid crisis, we are having one minor and one major exam each in semester. however, in usual cases, there are two minor exams and one major each semester. quizzes are also held in a few courses.
Placement Experience
we can apply for placements from the seventh semester onward. a lot of big companies like Microsoft, google, etc visit the campus and extend generous offers to the students. the average package for BTech students was around 17-18 LPA and for dual degrees, students were above 20 LPA. around 80 percent of students get placed in top companies around the world. I wish to take up a job after getting my degree. I am currently enrolled in cse dual degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
scholarships are offered to those who are in genuine need, for example, people whose family income is less than a certain amount are eligible to apply for those scholarships. some other scholarships are offered on the basis of academic excellence to students on the basis of their ranks in jee advance or their cg in the previous semester.
Campus Life
fests and events and competitions are organized at regular intervals, like beacon, rendezvous, Speranza, etc. the library has a regular supply of books. there is also a system of book banks wherein we can borrow a certain book for an entire semester. the classrooms are well-equipped with projectors, microphones, speakers, and charging points. sports complexes and the gym is well-developed. a lot of clubs are run and managed by the students even on social issues like vibhinn.
Admission
I took JEE entrance exam. anyone who passes class 12th with 75 percent grades is eligible to give JEE mains exam. we can get into various NITs and other prestigious institutes by JEE mains. whereas in order to get into an IIT we need to score well in JEE advanced. to qualify for JEE advanced, the cutoff for JEE mains is declared after the results are announced. only students scoring above a certain percentile are eligible to sit for advance. the application forms are available on the site of NTA.
