Course Curriculum Overview
I liked computer science as I was fascinated by the use of mathematics to build massive computing machines capable of doing essentially everything. The faculty-student ratio is about 1:20, and the faculty is extremely qualified. Term exams were timely and easy to pass.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Jane Street and Uber offer internships, with stipends of about 14L per month and 1 L per month. Projects like SURA(Summer Undergraduate Research Program), are undertaken by students which produce fresh research.
Placement Experience
Students in their final year are eligible for campus placements. About 100+ companies visit for campus placements and about 500 offers are made, the highest package goes about 2 Cr per annum and the average company package is about 12 LPA, and around 50% students get placements. Personally, I'm planning to go for higher studies instead of placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost of studying is not that much and is affordable especially as IITD offers various scholarships from donors and the government. The endowment fund scholarship is given to meritorious students at IIT Delhi.
Campus Life
Rendezvous and Tryst are the annual fests and the tech fest was organized in the month of March this year. All the necessary books and journals for courses and further reading are available in the library and can be borrowed and read. Amenities are sufficient in classrooms and various extracurricular activities like clubs are encouraged. Clubs like the Quizzing club are run by students and are popular on campus.
Admission
To get admission to IITD, we need to appear for JEE Advanced, application form can be found on the NTA website. Instead of selection through a single exam, admission procedures could be diversified, to improve students' overall development.
