Guru Nanak Khalsa College

Dislikes

  • canteen could have been better
  • Girls library isn't that great

Course Curriculum Overview :

I have spent more than 4 years in this same college and I must say the faculty members, non-teaching staff and everything is so good about this college. Teachers provide study materials and for practicals, the labs are well-equipped and run smoothly.

Internships Opportunities :

There is no placement facility option given by the college and which is a major drawback. However, I feel like they would start it very soon. There are many projects carried out by different departments.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is quite good and there is an instalment option also available in the college. They do have a scholarship facility. However, there is no placement facility in our department. I wish they had a placement facility in our college.

Campus Life :

The campus is very beautiful. There isn't much place but it's always clean and has many activity groups as well in which we can participate such as natyashray, NSS, and NCC. There is also a gym khana in our college.

Admission :

There were no entrance exams. The admission was solely based on merit. The process was quite easy and well-organized. There were good people to help out in times of need. There was no inconvenience faced.

Placement Experience:

From third semester students are eligible for getting placements. Companies like Cairn India, SLB, Exonn, Halliburton etc come every year for placements. Highest package is around 24 lakhs and average is 13 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placed is very less. After getting degree anyone can give competitive exams like gate for PSUs and GSI and if anybody is interested they can go for phds.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum at Amity is more of research based. They have dissertations for students at the end of of their academic year, and also provide mentors for the same. The syllabus is also not very vast and covers the most necessary topics.

Placement Experience:

The placements are actually very nice since if you study well, all of the students can be eligible for placements and there are various companies which visit on campus for hiring so there is always a chance of 100% placements here. The highest package goes upto 14 LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Having a keen interest in mathematics I opted to persue my masters in it. The reason behind it was the vast demand of mathematics in todays growing world. Curriculum consists of computer knowledge which is been required today by many giant companies. The syllabus is moderate and difficulty level is high. After every 3 month in each sem, we have mid term exam and just a month later we are having End term exam. We are given sufficient time for preparations as well , so that students does not face any burden while studying.
