Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the CSE department at IIT Delhi as it is one of the best in the whole world. The student-to-teacher ratio is a whopping 1:9. Every instructor is PhD and has an amazing 10-15 years of experience in teaching. Although the curriculum is a bit heavy, it covers all major areas needed in today's world. The exams are held on a regular basis but can be easily covered if one studies even 2 weeks before the exam date.
Internships Opportunities
The IITs are best for internships. Internships are offered from the second year onwards. The internship packages range up to almost 40L for just two months!!. Internships are mostly learning-based where the companies make you learn about industry practices and needs.
Placement Experience
From the beginning of 4th year, one is eligible to sit in on-campus placements. The placement record of IIT Delhi is just outstanding. The highest package has been 4 cr per annum. The average package is around 25L. Almost everyone gets placed as there are many companies which come during the placement season.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees here are moderate considering it is a government-funded college. The fees aren't high like in private colleges. There are a.ple scholarships for those who can't afford the fees as well as those who have achieved good ranks in JEE. It is a clear motto of the college that no student shall suffer due to lack of funds in whatsoever area.
Campus Life
Campus life here is good, I will say. There are as such no restrictions on students. One can roam around, try out various activities, enjoy or do whatever one wishes. There are clubs for every single activity as well as sports facilities for every single sport. The academic infrastructure is also world-class here. The annual fest Rendezvous is the second biggest fest in the country and is a much-awaited phenomenon among the students.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities here are mediocre, in my opinion. The rooms are a bit congested. Otherwise, everything is perfect. Cleanliness, food, sports facilities, etc., everything is taken good care of. The lunch is okayish but the breakfast and dinners are great. Hostels are allowed by the institute itself.
Admission
Admission to IIT Delhi is through the JOSAA counselling website. After the announcement of JEE's advanced results, the form to apply for admissions was opened on the official site. JOSAA takes around 3000 rupees when completing the admission. After freezing the preference, one also has to pay advanced fees to the college. Overall, the whole admission process is really smooth.
