Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose a computer science and engineering course(CSE) and more particularly a specialization in it i.e, artificial intelligence and machine learning(AIML). As Artificial intelligence is becoming the future now, I thought it will give me a good scope for the future and a good standard of living, so I opted for that course. We have 6 to 7 subjects for each semester. And each subject has a faculty. If the subject is about programming languages, then we have lab faculties too to guide each subject. More precisely, we have 3:66 faculty: student ratio mostly even though it depends on the subjects they are teaching. Faculty are well qualified to teach that subject, some have done PhDs, and masters in those particular fields that they are teaching. They explain theory topics in the class and explain programming topics in the lab. They make us practice programming languages in the lab. For every 5 months, there will be a semester exam and it's not that difficult to pass if we study well the topics

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for 1 year is 1,07,00rs. But if you joined the college through an entrance exam conducted by the state government and if you are eligible for reimbursement, then you can get 35,000rs reimbursement which will be added directly to your college fee. College provides some scholarship opportunities and brings some companies to college to assist us in financial, job and scholarship ways.

Campus Life

3

Social life is very cool at my campus. We have events conducted every semester . We can participate in many college fests . Even we have a program called SAC in which different clubs like dance clubs, music clubs, sports club etc are included. Every saturday this program is conducted , you can choose your club and go for it. @mrecians is an Instagram page of a college managed by students.

Admission

I know about MREC college from the 10th class. After my 12th I had written the EAMCET examination in which I got an 18000 rank. I included MREC college in it as the previous year's rank cutoff of 18000 was placed in this college. As I was interested in the computer science department, I chose it and kept on the options list. As I guessed, I got a seat in MREC college. The eligibility to join this college is either you must complete your 12th or you must complete a course in diploma. You can write an entrance examination conducted by the state government to join this college or you can buy a seat in the college directly if you can afford it. All the details about the application can be found on the MREC college website i.e, mrec.ac.in. If you are writing an entrance examination conducted by the state government, then you can have reservation benefits. You even get 35000 reimbursements if you are eligible. You can also apply to this college through B-category. Admissions are processed by considering many ways even JEE too.

Placement Experience:

From 4th sem itself students are eligible for placements. Although students get access to paid internships from their 1st year itself, just they need some effort. But as NIAT is yet new and no batch has passed out yet so we still don't have the exact placement percentage rate. But as we are getting paid internships from 1st year itself so it's very evident that placement would also be good

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
