BIT Sindri is mainly known for its core engineering departments i.e Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and a Good number of students from both these departments cleared the joint entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency. Classes are being conducted regularly and there is a mandatory attendance of 75% which need to be followed. Yes, My College does provide internships. it also provides international internship, there is an organization named AISEC that assist to get such opportunity. Whereas for core branches TATA Steel and ISWP provide internship opportunities as well.

From the end of the sixth semester, one gets the chance to appear in placement drives. Here various core and technical companies arrive and offer handsome packages. A few of them are Tata Steel, Vedanta, JSW, Yamaha, and other companies' visits as well. More than 90% percent of the students get a place per year.

Many students also choose this college because of the low fee structure and here core placements are quite better. Here the class size is about 120 students in core branches. the course fees are 14882 per year to be exact. Campus placements are really good for both core and technical branches. Some of the top recruiter companies are Tata Steel, ABG, Capgemini, Byjus, TCS, Yamaha, Vedanta, etc.

SANDHAAN, the annual techno-management festival of BIT Sindri. The Library here in BIT Sindri has over 10,000 texts and references materials from various disciplines of science, engineering, and technology. There is a Sports Club in BIT Sindri, established in 1960 whose main events include SPARDHA and PRATIDWANDA. Also, Inter-branch tournaments were organized every year for both boys and girls. There are various types of social and cultural clubs as well run by the students of BIT Sindri.

There are a total of 30 hostels on the campus of BIT Sindri and the hostel fee is around 600INR per month which is very good and affordable. There is 24*7 drinking water, geysers, internet connectivity, television, and other indoor games provided for every hostel.
