Course Curriculum Overview

I chose BSc mathematics for doing a pg in data science. The Mathematics department of payyannur college is good. There are 10 teachers and around 160 students in the mathematics department. Some teachers are really good at teaching and they help students very much. Series exams are conducted monthly which will helps students with the semester exam. The pass mark is 24 out of 60. That is 40 % Difficulty level of the semester exam is moderate.

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 2000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee is around 2000 for each semester. Many scholarships including an E grant are available for Backward class students. Also, the alumni group of payyannur College2 provided financial assistance for economically weaker students. But the campus did not provide any placement opportunities for students.

Campus Life

Campus life at payyannur college is really awesome. All festivals are well celebrated. The college has a library with a wide collection of books and journals. The Maths department has a separate library. Payyannur College won the university youth festival overall championships many times. The student union is really active and they conduct many programs for students.

Admission

Eligibility of the course is plus two in the science stream. Students can apply through the official website of Kannur university. There will be 3 rounds of allotments. If there are seats vacant even after the allotment process they go for spot admission Application fee is around 450 INR. There is a reservation for SC /ST students. Sports quota is also there. Athletes can apply for sports quotas. The admission process is time bounded and well organized.

Placement Experience:

The college has a well functioning placement assistance. There are various companies including banks and Tech based companies which arrives in the college for placements every year. The placement assistant cell prepare students very well for the placements.They grooms the students and prepares them for aptitude test, interviews and group discussions which are required for placements.

Out college being an autonomous college has good grip to keep up to the level of good education. Overall teaching methods and syllabus are very good. Placement Experience:

The placement of this campus is very excellent. The collage has a placement assistance cell and every year 50 companies reaching this college for placement drive . Every year more than 80 students gets placed in large companies like EY , MRF and banks like federal bank , South Indian Bank etc. The federal bank offers a highest package of 16 LPA for pg students and 8 students got placed in 2024-25 academic year. Placement is opens for students studying final year. There is coaching for placement for free of coast for the students who registered for placements

I choose this course because it is rare and it have high potential in national as well international level. But in this college they don't have enough facilities to teach so it won't prepare a student for real-world application. There was no entrance exam. Only we have to apply for it. The selection was taken under 12th mark list. If you are applying for a BSc we should have a studied science course in 12.
