Course Curriculum Overview
Exams are taken twice a semester. One is the mid-semester and the other end semester. Difficulty in passing the course mostly depends on the professor under which you are taking the course. All faculties are highly qualified with doctorates from international universities.
Internships Opportunities
Almost all big IT companies including Google, Flipkart, Condensation, Uber, etc visit the college for hiring interns as well as for providing full-time jobs as well in the final year. So if you are interested in this field you will get enough opportunities if you have a CS, DSE, or EE branch.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are good for you if you are in CS, DSE, or EE and want to work in the IT field. For other branches, if you want to opt for core jobs, there are very limited opportunities. Overall avg package of the college is around 20LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fees stand at 1 lakh Rs. per semester. However, you can avail of scholarships if you belong to reserved categories. Female students at IIT Mandi do not have to pay any amount of money as tuition fees to the college.
Campus Life
Some of the fests organized are Rann-Neeti (Sports fest), Xpecto (Tech fest), and Exodia (Cult fest). Books in the library are limited. Sports facilities are available vastly. Any sport that is a part of Inter-IIT is available to play on campus.
Admission
Admission to IIT Mandi for B.Tech and B.Tech+M.Tech (dual degree) courses happen via the JEE Advanced exam. In order to to be eligible to give this exam one has to qualify for the JEE Mains exam. JEE Mains is conducted twice a year in the months of January and April by NTA while JEE Advanced usually is held in the last days of May and is conducted by one of the IITs. The cut-off for various courses offered at IIT Mandi varies for different branches and different categories. The closing rank for CS in IIT Mandi was around 3000 - 4000 for a general male candidate.
