Things you need to know before taking admission in Cgc landran

Eligibility: The admission was done on the basis of percentage scored in 10th and 12th standard. I opted for bachelor of technology in Computer Science and engineering which is a four year course and the eligibility criteria was quite simple i.e. it required that the applicant should have scored atleast 60 percent in secondary and senior secondary school examination. Reservation & Scholarship benefits: The college provides various reservation benefits for student who are residence of Punjab or Jamumu & Kashmir . All scholarship provided by the Government are accepted here also the scholarship details are shared by the faculty every semester to help students.

The reason for choosing the bachelors of technology in Computer Science and engineering was that it had a promising future, also the technology industry was going rise high in the upcoming future. The placement provided by the college to this course was quite impressive as compared to the college fee. Faculty: The college provides students with great Faculty, all professors are well educated and are very helpful. There are multiple professors for each subject. The faculty: student ratio is quite good as each classroom contain approximately 60 students and there are multiple teachers for all subject. All the faculty have PhD degree and they put lot of work in their teachings. Teaching method: All the classes are provided with projectors which helps in fast and array leading. Special labs for each subject where students grab practical knowledge. Professors even provide students with notes. Exam: Conduction of examinations and exam pattern is decided by Punjab Technical University I.e.PTU

Internship : Getting internship from college is tough, very few internship opportunity is made available from college. Students try to get off campus internship. Walmart gives internship to 3 or 4 students of the college and provide them with Rs.60000 stipend, which is great deal for the student. The companies help student to get used to the corporate work environment. Here one learns about the new and upcoming technologies of the future. Due to less internship seat provided by college, maximum student try to find internship by themselves. Every semester students are required to submit two projects, one major project and one minor project. This projects shows how much knowledge a students have on their core subjects. Students show their coding skills in their projects which includes web page designing, app development, machine learning. Students are also required to provide with project reports and presentation of the project with working model.

Campus placement eligibility : The students are allowed to seat for campus placement from 6th semester if they meet the basic requirement criteria of the company. The training and placement department helps students in this regard. Companies visited : Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Walmart do often come to the college top make placement offers but they only select maximum of five or six student and provide the highest packages. Companies like tcs, vipro and cognizant are mass recruiters of the college. Maximum students get placed before completion of final semester. Packages : The highest package of this year was provided by Amazon Rs.4500000 per annum. The average package is around Rs.600000 per annum. Maximum students get placed before their last semester of college. % of Student Placed : Cgc landran is famous for their placements and nearly 75% student get placed before completing their 7th semester. And nearly all students get placed till completion of the course.

Fee: The fee for bachelor of technology in Computer Science and engineering is 45000 per semester which sums up to 360000 at the end of the course which is not at all bad for a college like this. The average placement provided by college can cover ones total college fee within one year of placement. The cost to study is not much as compared to other colleges providing this course. Financial assistance: The financial assistance provided is great, the account department is very helpful in matters of loans for student. All the college related document requires by banks for loan can be easily availed from the account office. All the scholarship provided by government are accepted here also more relaxation is given to residence of Punjab and Jammu&Kashmir. The faculty also provides students with upcoming scholarships provided by the government. Information regarding scholarships for females students is also provided by the faculty.

Fests: Parivartan fest is the biggest fest held by the college where celebrity singers are arranged to perform for the students, this fest lasts for two days. The fest is full of energy and excitement. The food stalks are full of street foods and also regional foods, as this stalls can be owned by students also so it provides a way for students to earn. Rides like giant wheel and pirate ship was also made available for the students to enjoy. Library: Books and journals are available in abandons for the students. Each block has its own library also there is a central library of the college. Classroom: Each class room are fitted with projectors and computer labs have air conditioners. The professors are lively and full of excitement which helps in engagement with students. Sports: Each year multiple sports events like cricket, volleyball, badminton etc, are conducted. Clubs: There are multiple clubs and each club has unique identity like dance, singing, sports, literature etc.

Hostel facilities: Hostel are available in 4 seater, 3 seater and 2 seater mode and their price varies accordingly. The rooms are provided with wifi with decent speed , the room is cleaned and moped once every week. For summers air coolers are provided, in winter warm water is available for taking bath. The hostler have laundry service also where they can give 7 pieces of clothings twice a week . Hostel food: The Hostel management has done quite good wrork on the menu, various types of paranthas with tea/milk is provided for breakfast. For lunch and dinner rice and roti with one curry and one daal is provided , dessert is also provided in dinner. Every evening snacks is provided. Menu is updated every week. Registration and Affordability: Registration process is easy, student is required to fill the hostel form and the warden proved them with hostel card and room number. The price varies , I live in a 4 seater room and my hostel fee is 95000 per year.
