Remarks

Overall I liked the college. But there is no lab facility for some semesters in civil and mechanical branches. They have to go university campus for doing lab which 65 kms away. College will arrange bus service. Less infrastructure is available. But overall good academics, good atmosphere, highly qualified teachers these all factors make this college good one

Entrance Preview

CAT. I chosen this college mainly due the university. CUSAT is a well known University and certificate has high than any other universities in Kerala. CUSAT is one of the highly ranked university. Other options I had was under Calicut University. I have completed B.Tech in Civil Engineering. I chose this course because it was one of my dream to become an civil engineer.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Excellent course structure. The course structure is revised on a regular interval. The last revised course structure was at 2015 and before that the course structure was revised at 2012. Electives are provided from 6th semester onwards. 1 elective per semester is available. There 3 to 4 elective subjects available for an elective. Thus a student can choose his choice easily

Internships Opportunities

No. Presently our college is not providing any internship. Basically our college is just a small unit of CUSAT main campus placed at kalamassery, Cochin. So only B.Tech and MCA courses are ongoing there

Placement Experience

3

There are several companies visiting the college for placement. Tata Consultancy Services, Godrej Locks, Larsen and Turbo, Baijus learning app etc are the some of companies that visited last year. Most of the companies offer around six lakh/annum after training. Civil companies are very less.

College Events

5

All festivals are celebrated here. Onam and Christmas are celebrated here. College arts and sports is done all year. All programmes are organised by students itself. College will provide fund but it will not be sufficient. Branch wise competition is held at trophies are kept at HOD's room

Fee Structure And Facilities

Free structure are as same as government scale. However payment seat is available but no capitation or donation is needed Merit seat - around 20000 per semester Payment seat - around 40000 per semester On first year amount will become little higher due to some fess (around 10000-12000). A rupees of 1000 is refundable after course completion. In case one dropping the course he will be refunded if he is dropped within the time period. Refund will takes time about 4 months. If one get admitted in payment seat and later if he is upgraded to free seat the excess amount (difference between payment seat and merit seat) is refunded.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship and loan facilities are not offered by the college. But a help desk is functioning at the office for the capturing of scholarship from external agencies such as state government and central government.

Campus Life

3

I had a excellent campus life over there. Students from all categories like religion, race are studying in unity. Politics issues are very common and small issues related to politics arises always. But I think in a college life is it is not a big problem.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

There are no hostel facilities by the college at present. There are plans to build a hostel but takes time. Presently there are private hostels which is recognized by college bus the service not satisfactory. For a paying guest average rental of 4500 per month is needed. Rooms are also available at rupees 2000 to 2500 per room. Maximum sharing in one room is 2. Electricity charge has to be paid extra

Alumni/Alumna

Namely no alumni network is over there, but there are good senior junior interaction. Seniors was really helpful for us. Since the college is located at a remote location one who is new to that place will be worried. I was also in such a situation. My senior students have helped a lot in this situation.

Exam Structure

There are two internals and one external exam for an semester. There will be minimum one day gap between each university exam. However if one has supplies to be cleared exams will come without any gap. There are special supplementary for some semesters. So one will get more chances for clearing arrears. Lab exams are done by the college staff itself. However it is not headache

Admission

After rank list publishing allotments is given as per the choice of the candidate. Then counselling is done at Cochin university campus(probably at kunjali marakkar college of marine engineering). Full fee for one year is to be paid at the time of counselling.

Faculty

4.5

Presently there are 2 types of faculties available. Permanent staff and temporary staff. All permanent faculties is highly qualified(IIT,NIT,IIS etc). Most of the permanent faculties are PhD holders. Temporary faculties are of M.Tech in respective streams. Overall, all faculties seems to be very helpful

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
