Remarks

The good thing is calm college atmosphere with a good faculty. The bad thing is that the college management is not focusing on developing the infrastructure which is still in mid 90's. Very poor infra and outdated labs and classrooms.

Entrance Preview

I wrote KCET as the eligibility test and scored 9438 rank. I chose this college because it's affordability and credibility.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course which I opted was industrial engineering and management or IE&M. Most of the course is in line with mechanical engineering with a few subjects focused on management. Overall the course proves to be very beneficial because of it's real time application and industrial relevance. One can also go for research field.

Internships Opportunities

The college as such does not provide any internship. But they do allow students to undergo internships and trainings in reputed companies.

Placement Experience

4

The college has one of the finest placements record. The average placement varies between 70-80 % . Some of the major companies which join the placement drive are :-1 Amazon 12lakhs 2 TCS 4-5 lakhs 3 CTS 4-5 LPA 4 CATERPILLAR 4-5 LPA 5 MU SIGMA 5-6 LPA 6 MINDTREE 3-4 LPA 7 NAGARJUNA C C 4-5 LPA and around 30-40 more with average package of 4-5 LPA.

College Events

3

Technical seminar, paper presentations, workshops. Intra college cultural fest VERVE.Inter college cultural fest KALANJALI.KALANJALI is organised every year in the month of September where almost 100 colleges take part. Apart from this, University sports events also take part in this college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The government fee was rupees 35000/- per annum till 2014 which has now been increased by 30%. The college development fee was rupees 12000/- per annum. One has to also pay additional fee for writing University examinations. Overall one has to pay almost rupees 70000/- per annum. This fee is actually very feasible and is very less when compared to other colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

I personally don't know about any scholarship. But yes the bank loan can be availed through any nationalised Banks through India. One can also avail loan for hostel and mess fee.

Campus Life

2

There's almost an equal number of boys and girls with majority of boys in mechanical and civil stream and girls in computers, electronics and bio tech streams. College does provide extra curricular activities but it's very hard to participate because of very hectic schedule. Debates, seminars and workshops are very good learning activities which also come with extra attendance.

Hostel Facilities

3

I personally didn't stay in the hostel. The hostel fee is rupees 50000/- per annum and an additional mess fee of rupees 2000/- per month. Old hostel building is very untidy and poorly managed. New hostel blocks are relatively much better. There's option of 2/3/4 sharing rooms.

Alumni/Alumna

Almost all the alumni are on social media like Facebook. There's also a dedicated page on Facebook. Also, those who are working are on platforms like LinkedIn through which they proactively help the Juniors.

Exam Structure

Every college under the Visveswaraya Technological University or VTU had to follow a tight but result oriented exams schedule. KOne has to write 3 internal exams and then an external exam in each semester. Labs are also well planned out in the overall curriculum. Yes, the schedule is hectic, but after it's for the benefit of students.

Admission

Entire admission process is standardized as per KEA Rules. We just need to submit the joining letter and Marks card along with Transfer Certificate. The administrative section is good and is very helpful towards the students. They'll help through out the admission process.

Faculty

4

Most of the teachers are well qualified and a few are not up to the mark. Majority of faculties teach in English with a few exception who are unable to completely explain in English and hence will resort to English. There are a few extraordinary faculty members also who have a wide expertise in their subjects. Some have even worked with organisations like ISRO, BEL, BHEL, NAL etc.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
