Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum at SMVIT Bengaluru is well-structured and follows VTU guidlines. It covers both fundamental engineering concepts and modern technalogical developments , ensuring students gain a balanced understanding of theory and practical applications. But curriculum should focus on more practical learning , skill-based training and modern teaching approaches to make academic experience even more effecctive and industry relevant.
Placement Experience
For 2023-24 highest package is about 16 lpa Average pakage is around 6-7 lpa Top recruiters include firms like Kick Drum , Infosys , TCS , Tally solutions etc. For CSE/ISE/ECE branches , placement outcomes tend to be significantly better in terms of packages and number of offers.
Fees and Financial Aid
I got admission to SMVIT through COMEDK , and the annual fees is around 2,81,000. For students admitted through KCET , the fees are comparetively lower -- around 1,00,000 per year. The college does not provide any in-house sholarships , but studentscan apply for private or external scholarships on their own. Since the college is affiliated with VTU ,the structure under COMEDK remains almost the same every year i.e about 2.81 lakhs annualy. The fees is paid yearly, not semester-wise

Hostel Facilities
Hostel fees for girls is 73k per year . Mess food is ok not so good not so bad . Hostels didn't provide any Wifi facilities . Rooms are clean and well-maintained . There are also some Pgs near college which are also affordable .
Admission
Among the colleges I applied to , SMVIT stood out for its experienced faculty , good infrastructure and consistent placement record especially in the IT and core engineering sectors. I couldn't secure admission to one of my preferred colleges due to higher cut-offs , but joining SMVIT turned out to be a positive decision . Admissions are mainly through KCET and COMED-K counselling, followed by document verification and fee submission.
Faculty
The college has well-qualified faculty across departments such as CSE , ECE , Mechanical , Civil , and newer specializations like AI&ML , Data Science , and Robotics. Most senior faculty members hold M.Tech or Phd degrees and have good teaching experience. The college follows VTU's semester based evaluation system with both internal and external assessments. 2-3 internals are conducted by college per semester. Internals include lab performance and viva Externals are conducted by external examiners appointed by the university.

The nightlife around SMVIT Bengaluru is quite calm since the college is located near Yelhanka away from the city's main hustle.
