Remarks
The admission process for Undergrads is like, first you have to perform in an entrance exam (i.e. JEE Advanced) then according to your All India Rank, you may get into IIT if you clear the cutoff. The cutoff varies to some extent according to the choice filling order of students.
Course Curriculum Overview
Actually, it's a fact, IITs are not about what you want, it's about what will you get, I took this course because of my rank. The student's faculty ratio is pretty good, even though you will get enough time to explore and get exposure to the institute.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is very similar for all the branches in Institute, you will get a free weaver according to your annual family income, as given below. Income <1,00,000 per annum, full tution fee weaver Income >1,00,000 & 5,00,000, 2/3rd of tution fee weaver SC and ST students get 100% tution fee, weaver For dual degree programs, this is valid till 4th year. Other than this, there are many other fee weavers available for students.
Campus Life
Campus Life is just awesome, IIT Roorkee conducts multiple fests throughout the year, major ones are Thomso (The annual Cultural Fest) and Cognizance (The annual Technical Fest). The library has a huge collection of books, the regular timings are morning 8:30 till 12:00 midnight, during exams, it opens for 24hrs. The institute have multiple outdoor and indoor sports facilities, including swimming pool, squash, table tennis, chess, cricket, football, hockey, volleyball, basketball, and many others.
