Remarks

Being a lateral entry student, only the final year diploma marks are considered, and no other entrance exams. The admission process is smooth but is quite slow. The process generally takes place through the dte Maharashtra portal. For institute level seats, one can contact the college office. They are very helpful and guide properly.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is modified recently with greater emphasis on thermal, management, and production planning subjects. For Production engineering, the students undergo a compulsory 6-month internship in the 7th semester which is the USP. The faculty is very knowledgeable and experienced and are always helpful even at midnight hour. The faculty: student ratio is around 30:1 There are 2 internal Unit tests of 20 marks each in every semester and are quite easy. For end-semester exams, one needs to study and prepare well. The teachings and study material provided by the faculty are sufficient.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees charged are a par with other engineering colleges in Mumbai. Every year, the fees are hiked by around 8 to 10%. The college does provide good value for money. There are a few very good scholarship schemes that are provided on a merit-and-need basis. The placement cell is very active and supportive. I got a job offer from multiple MNCs like Accenture, and Raychem industries with packages around 6 LPA.

Campus Life

The annual fest "euphoria" Takes place in March and is a great success. The infrastructure and amenities provided are good with a very well-maintained classroom and library. Extracurricular activities include technical teams like vaayushastra, roboccon, formula racing, etc which provide good hands-on practical experience and compete in international competitions. They provide a very good platform to implement theoretical knowledge and learn new things out of the curriculum. These teams have been securing top 10 ranks in international and national competitions consistently for 10 years now.

Placement Experience:

From 7th Sem, students are eligible for placements and undergo placement training. Many companies has visited so far but the big ones are Godrej, BEL, Framatome, etc. The highest package for mechanical was 7.5 LPA and the avg package was around 5 LPA with a majority of job roles as GET. Almost 95% students are placed. I'm preparing for GATE ME for higher studies

Placement Experience:

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. I was getting VJTI Mech and Civil but i wanted CSE or IT branch. I also got IT in DJ Sangvi and SPIT cllg but as i stay in Mulund-Thane area it is very far from me and travelling alone took 4 hrs of the day. After all these odds this cllg was best for me as it takes only 1.5 hrs of daily travel for me. Time is money u will realize this during ur engg. Cllg only accepts CET and JEE MAINS scores. You can get in fr crce either through jee or mht-cet. But you need to have Maharashtra state domicile if you are looking forward to take admission via mht cet. As the college is Christian minority college 51% of seats are reserved for Christian students. The cutoff vary with branch.
