Remarks

Good is that the one with clear insight about future have many ways to get that done bad is that many students here are spoiled if you are odiya you will get good network and zones here is bad thing grade backs and debar is bad thing.

Entrance Preview

AIEEE 2011 and i got 8461 AIR, I liked CSE so i took it.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course Curriculum is out dated faculty is the worst here for CSE they are not at all intersted and I think they are not qualified even because most dont even know programming to teach to students most faculty are racist and lenient towards odiya students and towards girls also.

Internships Opportunities

I applied for internships offline because many companies haven't turned up i interned in a start up from bangalore and teh stipend was good.

Placement Experience

Placements are decent if you are from CSE else forget about it the average package is 4 lpa.

College Events

The fests are waste here many stand in election to get money out of fests by conducting them participation from out side is very less our college have three festivals, Techincal Innovision, Cultural Nitrustav, ISM International Students Meet.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan is provided by SBI in the campus and I think scholarships are available for backward castes not for general.

Gender ratio is 1:2, extra curricular is good enough, labs were the worst because many profs treat them for sake so they dont teach much there.

Placement Experience:

Placement are descent enogh. After 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement drive and become eligible for internships in 2nd year itself. Highest paid CTC was 39LPA and average package is around 10 LPA.

My college experience

Placement Experience:

If you have good career throughout your 10th to btech life then you have a chance to get a job.if not then it is very very difficult to get the job.many students get rejected for their low percentages in +2.I don't have records of all branch but in mechanical branch only 32 out of 124 got placed.the companies came for campus selection are ramtech (highest taken by it i.e 11) salary-1.7lakh per annum.Infosys (4selected 2.2 lakh per annum)L&T(1selecetd 2.7 lakh per anum)Wipro(7selected 1.9lakh per annum)otheres company came are low labels I even didn't remember their names.

Discovering NIT Rourkela

I chose NIT rourkela based on my JEE rank, as this was the highest rated college I could get.It had good placements, had a high NIRF ranking and in comparsion to my other choices was the clear winner. The admission process takes place through JOSSA counselling for B.Tech.After being alloted a college on site registration takes place followed by hostel allocation and branch admission , a procedure that lasts about 6-10 hours. The course is based on josaa counselling seat allotment. You have to clear jee mains with high marks and percentile to get into this college. You know the competition of jee mains and advanced. I got 95 percentile to get CSE ( I m st category) but my batchmate got 99-98 percentile. You have to study in college too....Read More

Internship-first step to placement.

The course requires us to clear jee mains in which the cutoff is above 90 percentile for general category. The form is found on NTA website and fees is about 1000 rs for general category. The exam happens twice in a year and by difficulty level is pretty descent...with maths the hardest and toughest.
