NIRF ranked-1 IIT Madras, College review

The admission process is through JoSAA. The entrance exam was JEE Advanced. The cut-off for this course for the general category was 5877-7551. The admission process was online. The fee for JoSAA was 35k.

I choose this course since it was the only one which I liked among the courses for which I was eligible. The student ratio here is 1:4. The faculty members teach very brilliantly. Their lectures are very interesting. There are semesters in which there are two quizzes and one-semester exam. They are very easy to crack as compared to jee.

The internship drives start here at the end of the second year. There are internships in core as well as non-cor such as finance, marketing, consulting, etc. In cor, u can also do research with the professors of IIT Madras. the average stipend is around 40-50k per month. Since I am a first-year student, so, I don't know much.

A month-long placements start at IIT Madras every December. 90% of students end up bagging a job at the end of the first phase of placements. Almost certainly the rest of the students end up with a job by the end of the placement drive.

The fees structure here is divided into three categories(Based on family income)- 1) Family income above 5 lakh - 115300 per semester 2) Family income below 5 lakh and above 1 lakh - 48633 per semester 3) Family income below 1 lakh and SC, ST, PWD - 15300 per semester It's very hard to find any campus jobs in the first year. But eventually, u can get some part-time jobs at IITM Research Park.

There are a lot of clubs in IIT Madras all of which are run by student bodies, even all the fests are organised by the student bodies only. The annual fest named Saarang and the tech fest named Shashtra are conducted in the month of January. There are more than 300 labs on campus. The classrooms are excellent with two projectors and air conditioning. There is a Central Library on campus where u can find all the course-related books and journals. This place is fantastic for research. There are a lot of sports facilities.

Hostel rooms are provided with a cot, an almirah, a chair, and a LAN connection of speed 1gbps. They will get hot water in the washrooms for bathing. The washrooms are very clean since the hostel provided to me is newly built. The hostel registration process was very straightforward. There are many options for a mess like - North Indian, South Indian, Jain mess, etc
