Remarks

I took the CUCET exam which is now the CUET exam. It was an online test. On the basis of the scores of that test, cut-off lists were displayed on the side. I got my name on the third list. There were 6-7 vacant seats left even after open counselling. All the process was in online mode. For open counselling, you have to be physically present there. The admission process is simple but CUH need to improve their IT sector and open counselling should also be done online mode too aa many students were from Kerala and they couldn't get admission as they couldn't come for open counselling.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I always wanted to study journalism so I chose this course. The course curriculum is very easy. There are 7 teachers and 30 seats in the M.A. course. There are currently 8 seats in pH.D. The teachers are very experienced in academics as well as in the field. They have great contacts and organize different educational seminars and workshops now and then. Teachers are always there to help. They are very supportive. There are two sessional exams in each term and assignments. Exams are easy to pass if you study with a focus in class.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Our teachers had good contacts and that helped us get internships. Otherwise, you can search on your own too. There is no such certainty that your department will provide an internship to you or placement to you. University is weak in that department. Students do these things on their own. I did 4 weeks internship with no stipend and I used to be a reporter there. I had to gather and write news.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are very less. Around 25000 for both the years for professional courses. Also, there is an Earn While you Learn scheme under which you can work for one hour in your preferred department and you will get around 100 Rs for each hour. There is a scholarship too for Haryana students by the Haryana government i.e. har chhatravartti.

Campus Life

3.5

It's a growing institution. The library has a lot of e-books and physical books as well but you can't get every prescribed course of your book there. The facilities are top quality. In every classroom, there are four fans and lights, and two ACs. An annual fest named Spandan is organized every year in February. Every festival is celebrated at the University. There are various activities going on on daily basis by different departments. Sports complex doesn't have any good facilities. Different clubs like drama club, dance club etc. are also starting.

Placement Experience:

Students become completely for the campus placements at the beginning of the last semester of their respective course. If I talk about my course MA-JMC under the Communication and media technology department of the university. CMT department organises a portfolio exhibition and placement program in which they invited various companies to recruit students. Some of them are Amar Ujala, Dainik bhaskar, Hindustan Times and the pioneer in print media and Tv 9 Bharatvarsh, Zee Media and T- series in electronic media. These companies gave to all the skilful students accordingly. The highest package offered in this placement drive is 12 Lacs per annum and the lowest among them was 5 lakhs per annum. In communication and Media technology, almost 90% of students got recruited in the placement drive.

Placement Experience:

The students in this course are eligible for placement from the 2nd year of their graduation and in the final year of their Masters. The placement is offered by the department and the students who meet the eligibility criteria are selected. The companies like Haryana Information and Public Relation Departments, Hindi news channels, and Punjabi news channels have visited till now. My plan after completing my degree is to be a content writer and pursue this as my career.
