Remarks

I applied to this university only for my Master's Of Arts in Mass Communication because I did my bachelor's from here as well. the admission process in the Institue is quite easy all you have to do is first fill an online application form available on the website Kuk.ac.in from the admission section and then submit that form to the department office and after that, you will be informed about the counseling day date and you need to be available with your all your previous academic documents and also the list of merit students and then the eligible one is selected and this category varies on the marks percentage like the first, merit list will include the cut off till 90% or above so the students with same this percentage will be selected on the first day of counseling and this process goes on till 60% marks list and also there is a variety of quota available like SC/ST.EWS, Single child. When a student is selected then comes the verification of documents and then fees payment.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is professional and includes practical work. Institute of Mass Communication & Media Technology, Kurukshetra University has a special course to offer in Mass Communication and Graphic Designing and much more but the practical work is less here. The professors are highly qualified in their respective fields and also provide the required knowledge. The ratio between students and professor is fine, there are also ample guest teachers who become the substitute when the subject teacher is not available at times. The practical work for students in the institute is less as compared to theory work. The exams and mid-term sessions are conducted regularly and on time at times of ongoing pandemic too Institute has conducted all the examinations and the criteria of passing are easy the more you write accurately the more you score, it's not much to pass unless you submit your internal assessments and practicals on time which plays a major role in gaining marks.

Internships Opportunities

3

As such internships are not offered by the university but if any student wishes to pursue any of the internships in any o the media house then they are permitted to do so and also professors help to fetch some of the internships.

Placement Experience

3.5

The students in this course are eligible for placement from the 2nd year of their graduation and in the final year of their Masters. The placement is offered by the department and the students who meet the eligibility criteria are selected. The companies like Haryana Information and Public Relation Departments, Hindi news channels, and Punjabi news channels have visited till now. My plan after completing my degree is to be a content writer and pursue this as my career.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is yearly based on Master's but in Bachelor's, it was as per semester. The fee of Master's of Arts In Mass Communication & journalism is 8000 rupees per year. The course is a 2-year post Graduation course.

Campus Life

3.5

Kurukshetra University used to organize many fests annually, one of them is Ratnavali which represents the Haryanvi culture and is organized every year in university in the month of October-November. All the students are welcomed to participate in the different activities and also Institue of Mass Communication & Media Technology also organizes their own Media fest in which they invite other colleges media students and universities. The institute has its own personal library where students can find all the books related to their course and subject. The classrooms are maintained and clean. The university has its own separate sports ground and physical education department and sports hall where anyone can be part of the sports they want and if a student shows a sleek growth they are also offered to represent the university in that particular sports they are interested in.

Placement Experience:

Students become completely for the campus placements at the beginning of the last semester of their respective course. If I talk about my course MA-JMC under the Communication and media technology department of the university. CMT department organises a portfolio exhibition and placement program in which they invited various companies to recruit students. Some of them are Amar Ujala, Dainik bhaskar, Hindustan Times and the pioneer in print media and Tv 9 Bharatvarsh, Zee Media and T- series in electronic media. These companies gave to all the skilful students accordingly. The highest package offered in this placement drive is 12 Lacs per annum and the lowest among them was 5 lakhs per annum. In communication and Media technology, almost 90% of students got recruited in the placement drive.
