Remarks

75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the 12th board exams for B.Tech courses and 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the 12th board exams for B.Pharm Application form, fees and dates can be found on bitsadmission.com No Reservation is there

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course because I had an interest in electrical circuits and developing new technologies during high school. The lecture classes have a faculty: student ratio of about 1:150 but the tutorial and lab classes have a ratio of about 1:30. All the faculties are highly qualified and the teaching method of most teachers is pretty good and they try to explain the topics as well as they can. The term exams are held timely as scheduled and it is fairly easy to pass if one puts in the effort.

Internships Opportunities

4

Many companies provide internships like Adobe, Microsoft, Amazon, and Samsung to name a few. Roles offered are mostly in the IT sector but there are also many roles offered in the core sector. Different projects are offered by different companies and based on their performance the students can get pre-placement offers(PPOs).

Placement Experience

4

Most students get placed in their fourth year but a lot of students get internships and PPOs in their third or even second years. A lot of companies visit the campus and almost all students get placed. To name a few companies, Flipkart, Amazon, Uber, Microsoft, Adobe etc, visited the campus this year. The average package is around 2000000 per annum. More than 90 per cent of students sitting in placements get placed. I plan on sitting for placements and doing a job after getting the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a fee hike of 9% every year in Bits and the total cost of study for 4-year courses is about 2500000 whereas for 5-year courses it is about 3200000 for the 2021 batch. The college provides two kinds of scholarships, one is a merit scholarship which is strictly based on CGPA and the other is a merit cum need scholarship which is given to students whose annual income fall under an amount decided by the college based on merit.

Campus Life

4

The annual cultural fest is called Pearl and is held in the month of March and the annual tech fest is called Atmos and is held in October. The library has a huge collection of books in all fields. The classrooms are very spacious and have screens, mics and blackboards. There are sports facilities available for almost all sports and the annual sports fest called Arena is held in the month of January. Many groups, clubs and websites are there. To name a few, Trader's Club, entrepreneurship cell etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

The rooms have cupboards, fans, whiteboards, beds, chairs and tables. The meal quality of the mess is pretty decent and the menu has different items for each day of the week. The registration process is very straight forward and all students get hostel rooms. Staying in rented rooms or PGs is not allowed.

Placement Experience:

From 4th sem itself students are eligible for placements. Although students get access to paid internships from their 1st year itself, just they need some effort. But as NIAT is yet new and no batch has passed out yet so we still don't have the exact placement percentage rate. But as we are getting paid internships from 1st year itself so it's very evident that placement would also be good

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
