Remarks

The admission process is ultimately based on the KEAM entrance examination. The students shall pass the KEAM examination and the application is online via the commissioner of the entrance examination site. The reservation categories include sc, st and children of fishermen. The only thing I want to see improved is the number of seats should be made much more so that it may be useful for most students.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The university has got well-experienced faculty members. The faculty members are usually appointed through the public service commission exam. while talking about the student-faculty ratio there are all required faculty members for the required area. The qualification is mandatory and they should complete their master's in appropriate subjects. The teaching method is pretty good. The university examination is usually conducted at the end of each semester and an average student can pass if he or she works hard.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The university has included each subject-related internship in the curriculum and the main companies include PDDP, milma, spice board, pavizham etc. The students have to perform a project at the end semester and will be evaluated and have credits. The students got the opportunity to utilise their skills and ability and the best projects will be awarded.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee for my course is about 3,50,000 also the university provides plenty of scholarships for students on a merit basis. Also, the sc st OBC students have e-grants scholarships so that they return to get the fee they remitted. Also, the university provides some excuses or extensions for those students who are unable to pay fees on time.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is so good. There are so many clubs like music, Rotaract etc also NSS and NCC is also there. Every year University conducts several fests usually in the month of August - September. The University has got a library where all the necessary study materials are available. Each there will be arts and sports competitions for students and all the activities are mainly coordinated by the students union.

Apart from ISRO many campanies like Texas Instruments, UTS, Mercedez , also come here for recruuitment. Many also opt for M.tech and MBA after graduation

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies - [KUFOS], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Food Technology)
Reviewed on May 11, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.

I only have postive thoughts about that campus. The campus helped me to remove my pre-occupations, inhibitions, fear etc. It gave a lot of memorable moments, large number of friends. The most special thing about the college is those memorable friendships with the faculties whos understand students very well.
