Remarks

I didn't take any entrance exams. My admission was purely on the basis of my JEE MAIN score. Cut-off varies according to the branch, and it is different every year. I found out about this institute through my uncle, who is an employee of TATA CUMMINS INDIA LTD. College gives numerous reservation benefits and scholarships to students but sadly, I didn't receive any :( The admission process should be digitalized so that it would be convenient for people who are from different states or cities because the admission process takes a lot of days to get completed.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this stream because I knew Computer Science is in trend and wanted to try something new. Now, I'm in my final year of college and I guess I'm quite happy with my decision. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:10. Many faculty members are PHD holders while some are postgraduates. We have two sessional exams at the college level and one university exam every semester.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The college is pretty good in placements, but internship opportunities provided for our batch and the previous ones were not enough for everyone. We were given live projects with companies like National Informatics Centre and other start-up companies. But for the batches succeeding ours, they are providing PPOs (Pre Placement Offers) in Big MNCs like Intel and even companies like CIL, TATA Motors and many more.

Placement Experience

5

As I mentioned earlier, the Training and Placement Cell of our college is exemplary. Students are eligible to sit for campus placements as soon as they enter the final year, ie., since the 7th semester. I can name n number of companies which have visited our college till now, and most of them were dream opportunities. CITI Group, CISCO, McKinsey, GSK, Gartner, Publicis Sapient, PhonePe, Intuite, Palo Alto Networks, Caterpillar, Deutsche, Eaton, Providence Global, TechnipFMC, KPIT, Capgemini, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Blueflames and many more. It has been a month and a half since the placement season started and our college has already grabbed 54 offers. The percentage of placement in our college is near about 90%.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees vary according to the category of the student. It remains almost the same every year. I recently got placed in CITI at a package of 13.7 LPA. The college's Training and Placement Cell is extremely outstanding and provides tons of job opportunities for students in Big MNCs which provide impressive packages.

Campus Life

3.5

There are various fests which we organize at our college, be it a grand cultural event like ANANYA, or various technical fests like AVISHKAAR (A Hackathon), workshops like Robokart, drone development, coding fests and much more. Library is not so big, but it contains all the course-related books. Being an avid reader, I always dreamt of attending a college which had lots and lots of novels. Students need a distraction right? They can't always be studying. So, to conclude, the library has disappointed me the most in my entire 3.5 years of being here. There are many committees run by students in our college, and they are very active. These committees organize various events almost every month and are one of the main reasons why our campus is so vibrant. We have committees like IEEE CCOEW SB, CSI, NSS, ASM, and many more.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are 4 beds in a room and they provide no more options otherwise. I don't want to talk about the menu because we all know that we will never be satisfied with it, no matter how good the food is. The hostel and mess fees are comparatively less as compared to other hostels I am aware of.

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
