Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this because I always had a dream to serve the country by becoming a doctor. The faculty-student ratio is about 40:60. All the staff is well educated and groomed with a sufficient amount of knowledge from well-known universities all over India and the teaching methodology is up to the mark as it covers all the practical and theoretical aspects. Exams are conducted after every 2 months and are up to the level to pass.

Class Size: 62Course Fees: INR 90000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure of this course is very basic that is 80k per year including mess and tuition fees and all other expenditures. Scholarships are provided to different categories of students in the university i.e. SC, ST, EWS, and many other categories. There is also a scope that you can become a teaching professional while doing PG so that you can manage your fees with the study.

Campus Life

The annual fest conducted in the university is the kisaan mela every year, one in March, and one in October. Amenities are- LED classrooms with projector facilities. Sports and extracurricular activities are abundant through which a student can groom himself or herself. UG AT VETERINARY COLLEGE GBPUAT

Likes

Good faculty: all professors are highly qualified and have best knowledge of their subjects. They have best understanding of topics and good experience in teachin
POSITIVE ACADEMIC ATMOSPHERE: researches an breakthroughs in the field of veterinary are done regularly here. Questions and doubts are always resolved. Academics is prioritiesed
GOOD LIBRARY IN COLLEGE. college has a dedicated college library having all the books of courses curriculum which can be issued. Every edition is availabke along with all the magazines of the subject

Dislikes

Overcrowding!! The college doesn’t have infrastructure to support almost 100 students which are being admitted each year and the students somehow face difficulties in studying insuch crowded atmosphere
BAD HOSTEL MESS : the good served in the hostel mess is of very substandard quality and is not very nutritious. Mess are not clean and are in bad shape. Even spoons and utensils are not available
Bad hostel rooms. Hostel rooms are in very bad shape. The hostel needs renovation very badly. And the staff is not very helpful. Toilets are not clean and poor sanitation practices lead to diseases on regular basis. One small room is shared by 3

Placement Experience:

There are plenty ot government and private jobs in veterinary sector if a person is having good knowledge of the subject he can have upto 8 to 10 LPA of income package after completing of ug and after few years of experience the income may raise to 15 to 17 LPA . There is no dedicated placement cell in the college for veterinarians but different state govt , army , paramilitary forces, different central and state govt conduct inductions for permanent employment of veterinarians . Employment is almost guaranteed after completion of this degree .

My perspective

Likes

The professors and other staff is really cooperative and understanding... They are always available to help you out in any sense... The facilities provided and the infrastructure is of great influence to us...
The college train us in all aspect including work programme and NCC/NSS for overall development of students

Dislikes

The timing can be made flexible in noon from 2:30 onwards as it will really help students to take some rest after lunch and not to hurry for class
More practical classes could be conducted for better understanding of the subjects

Course Curriculum Overview:

In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness the curriculum is great I would say... The institute follows strict guidelines of VCI... The curriculum helps us in both veterinary and animal science field, also helps us to develop a sense of discipline and responsibility towards society

Opt to become a veterinarian.

Placement Experience:

From the final year i.e. after 4.5 years students are eligible for an internship. The 6-month internship is to be done within the campus and the rest of the 6 months in another organization. Many dairy, poultry, food processing, and wool processing companies visit the college for hiring students. Also, many research fields are available after the course with great scope. Around 5 to 7 lakh per annum packages are easily available after the course which is generally offered by firms visiting the college. Best students based on their academic performances are preferred. Near about 60 to 70 % are generally getting placement. Others generally opt for further studies. AMUL, Ananda dairies, poultry firms, many renowned slaughterhouses, and research organizations are some places where veterinarians get appointed other than clinical practices.

Pantnagar veterinary college is a good choice

I got admission to Pantnagar veterinary college through ICAR AIEEA 2020 entrance exam. This exam is conducted every year for admission in various UG & PG courses. The exam was organized by NTA (the same agency that organizes NEET). After B.V.Sc. & Ah, I opt for PG with veterinary science for which I cleared this exam with an overall rank of 148 in the general category. The maximum marks for this exam are 480( there are 120 questions each of 4 marks), and my score was 300. The exam was conducted online mode. After the result, the students have to fill their choices of colleges on-site of ICAR and according to your score in the exam, seats are allotted in different universities. In the first round of counseling, I got a seat in Jabalpur veterinary college but I left that seat as there is a lack of research facilities in that college. Finally, in the mop-up round, I got a seat in veterinary surgery & radiology in Pantnagar veterinary college. Pantnagar university has a good and student-friendly environment....Read More
