Admission

I applied for agriculture college and was confirmed admission, but I was more inclined towards animal biology than plant . I tried for a medical College too , but my score didn't permit me to score a seat there. The admission process is through a pen and paper mode exam ( objective type ) containing questions from physics , chemistry, biology, general studies, aptitude and reasoning . Some students can also apply via the counselling conducted by the VCI on the basis of their NEET score . The eligibility criteria is 1. You must have at least 45% marks in the relevant subject in Class 12. 2. For Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, you must be between 17 and 25 years old. 3. For science courses, you must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics, Agriculture, or a relevant subject.

Faculty

The faculty members are very approachable and very helpful The exams are conducted majorly in category Internal and externals The internals are 3 out of which 2 best are taken ( in which you have secured your highest score ). Internal are of 40 marks each . Like if you scored 30 in 1st , 25 in 2 nd and 27 in 3 Rd , the 1 St and and 3rd internal will be selected for marking in grade sheet . The externals are 2 ( 1st and 2 nd ) each of 80 marks and both are evaluated for your grade sheet .

It offers multiple opportunities and a great profession to persue. If one has inclination towards animals and doest compare it with mbbs or other degrees. It is a different profession requiring different mindsets. One can be a veterinary officer of grade one or grade two according to state government.
