Remarks
The college has definitely been a good experience but due to mis-management in the appointment of faculty & poor placement record the college has suffered on various counts. There should be a strong initiative to fill up these vacancies and bring top firm
Entrance Preview
The Faulty of Law, Delhi University conducts an exclusive entrance test for its 3 centres. The eligibility criterion for the entrance exam is being a graduate with minimum 50% marks in graduation. Out of the 3, the Campus Law Centre is the best college in DU and one of the best in India. I scored around 360 marks with a rank of around 700 & thus secured admission in this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of our course has been rated as one of the best all over India. And even now the course is going for an upgradation in order to keep up with the ever changing trends in the field of law. Our college is known to be one of the most intellectual and knowledgeable colleges. Thus we can see 60% of the judges in Delhi HC are from our college. Even the faculty of our college is one of the most impressive and are respected the world over. However, now due to a freeze in the recruitment policy of DU, we haven't been able to attract quality professors who are getting employed in the NLUs.
Internships Opportunities
Due to the name & prestige of our college, it hasn't been difficult in getting internships. However, the college doesn't have a robust placement mechanism. And every year hundreds of students have to look for internships on their own thus suffering if they do not have any contacts. Since Law students are a dime a dozen most of the firms or advocates either don't offer an stipend or offer a very low stipend.
Placement Experience
As mentioned previously we do not have a well functioning placement committee. Thus we haven't even been able to attract good firms. Even if the firms do come and offer us a job opportunity, many of the studentsdon't take it up, thus leading to a bad reputation for CLC.Wipro came to our campus & recruited 3 students offering a package of Rs. 10,00,000/- p.a.OAC, a leading law firm also recruited a few students.
College Events
Being a professional college and a post-graduate college, we do not place a lot of emphasis on cultural events. However, we still have an annual fest with decent participation from other colleges of North Campus. We also have a freshers event to welcome our 1st year students in college. Our college places a lot of emphasis on educational events and competition. We have a lot of seminars, talks, discussions on various subjects related to the field of law. The KK Luthra Moot Court Competition is one of the best Moot Court Competition held all over India.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees structure of the college is the cheapest among all good law colleges. We have a heavily subsidized fee structure because of the assistance from the Central Government. The annual fees is Rs. 10,000/- and the various other fees come around to Rs. 5,000/-
Fees and Financial Aid
Since the fees of our college is very low students have no need for loans and thus are saved a lot of expenditure incurred after joining a job. Scholarships are provided to socially backward community students in line with the Government policies.
Campus Life
Being an excellent law college all the students are aware about various issues related to gender, caste, religion, ethnicity & sexual orientation and thus I can proudly say that we are one of the most tolerant colleges with a vibrant atmosphere fostering all types of debate. We have various workshops in our college focusing on issues related to minorities, women, differently-abled people and LGBTs. As I previously mentioned the KK Luthra Moot Court Competition is one of the best in the country.
Hostel Facilities
Since I do not stay in a hostel or PG I can't comment upon this. However, from what I have heard from my friends the hostel facilities are quite good and the mess serves good quality and nutritious food. But the hostel facilities can't cater to all the stu
Alumni/Alumna
Because of a lack of initiative our college doesn't have a strong alumni network even though our alumni are well placed with strong connections. As I said previously many of our alumni are judges in various District Courts, High Courts and the Supreme Court of India. Many of them are senior partners in top corporate firms. We also have a lot of senior advocates and Advocate-on-Record from our college. But due to a poor alumni network and lack of interaction with the college the Alumni generally loses interest which impacts the students directly as they can't get good placements or internships.
Exam Structure
The curriculum timetable isn't very rigid and leaves us with a lot of time to pursue other activities. Exams are held twice in a year as we follow a semester system. The assessment is done on the basis of these exams only.
