Remarks
Vaze Kelkar college is well known in Mumbai for its good education system. I got 73 percent in 12th commerce. I wanted to study for banking exams so I decided to take admission for a bachelor's in commerce. In 11th and 12th standard, I was already in Kelkar college so I got in-house admission for BCom. But if you are an outsider then the cutoff for BCom is an average of 80%. For the admission process first, you need to fill out the form on the official website of Mumbai university with your all information. Also to which college do you want to take admission you need to personally go to that college and fill out the application form for related courses or you can apply online depending on a particular college. After the first round, if you are admitted to Kelkar college then go to the college and fill out the given forms also collect your documents with you such as an Aadhar card, mark sheet photocopy, application form certificate if you are from sports quota or minority groups or reservation category bring your reservation certificate.
Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted to study for competitive exams. Also, I was in sports so B.Com was the best choice for me. So that I can focus more on competitive exams with the B.Com course. The faculty was great. Teaching staff members in the college are quite helpful. They are very well-educated and qualified. The quality of teaching is of a top level. They have started a mentor program during college hours, wherein each teacher is assigned as a mentor to a certain group of students. The teaching methods used were quite normal, like any other college. Every classroom is equipped with a projector to help the students learn quite easily. Passing marks for each subject is 40/100.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Wipro, rely mostly on offering accountant roles for BCom students. They first take entrance exams and then interviews the clarify students and then select for a particular role.
Placement Experience
In your last year, students become eligible for campus placements. Like TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, etc. companies visit colleges or through the online process, they take interviews of eligible students. Around 60 to 70% of students get placement in companies. They offered around 2.5 lakh per year package.
Fees and Financial Aid
B.Com is a three-year graduation course. I completed my graduation in the year 2019-2021.at that time fees were around 20,000/-. It includes library fees, gymkhana, exam fees, etc. course. Placements: College conducted a placement program in which students can enroll themselves by paying Rs. 100 and they were entitled to sit for PI. Mostly, B.Com graduates get their starting pay from Rs. 7,000 per month to Rs. 10,000 per month, depending upon their capabilities, other curricular activities, and accounting knowledge level. Mostly, midsize companies or upper mid-size companies visit here and choose their picks.
