Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course is very good on paper. University has given like 8 subjects from which we have to choose 5. But this college itself chooses 5 subjects and students now have to learn only them ... Like in 3rd year sem 5 there was subject international finance I wanted to study that because baf course is all about finance but the college had subject management. So yeah be prepared for this. My colleges reputation is not that great because other city students come too. So for about teaching it's average

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure. 1st yr :-?18800. 2yr:- ?19700. 3yr :-?23100 There is also career katta fees of govt ?365 to pay at year end. Yes there are scholarship options available but mainly for SCST/OBC/EWS with valid certificate. One of my class mate pays only ?12k ?13k and ?15k respectively. For each yr because he was SC from Maharashtra. In fees everything is included like internet charges, library, sports room/gym khana, computer room, etc. There are internet and computer charges only no opportunity tu use internet and only once in a year took to computer room such a worst college. Fees considerably increased in TY because fees was increased by mumbai University.

Campus Life

4

There are many festivals such as saksham organised by Viva student council, annual meet, traditional days, special events for garba during navratri , march on independence day by NCC students. Library is good you will get mostly all the books of you syllabus and some extra reading books too and also newspapers in 4 languages. Campus life is good for active students. If you have good freind circle you will have fun campus life totally depends on freind circle alone u can't do much

Admission

I applied to this college only because it was in my city not far from my home and since I am preparing for CA I can't waste my time on travels. College is easy to apple if u have low scores no tention viva college will always back you. It's like made for people with avg or below average scores .. if you have good scores and want a good community go to colleges in Mumbai. Addmission process is as such fill the form online in their website then your name will come on the list check the list by visiting the college physically. And no pressure of attendance.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is not on par with govt expectations every subject teacher teaches in 3 divisions (A,B,C) each division 75 students. So ratio would be 1:225. Teachers are approachable and friendly some times over freindly. No proper allocation of subjects to teachers so teachers too just do their job not proper teaching only solving sums from textbook giving H.W and gone. There are like 4 exams in a year. 2 for each sem. Internals and then sem. Internals are easy 25 marks exams. But sem are full-fledged 75 marks. Usually every students pass but 5 to 6 students from each division gets KT(means fail u have to give reexam).

Night Life

2

No night life college doesn't have hostels. Yh people janh out cafes around the college. No proper night life by college it's all if u want to enjoy u personally come with your friends and can enjoy arround college no entry in college

Placements in my college are decent but not very high. students usually become eligible from the final year and few companies visit for roles like accounting assistant, sales, customer service. The average package is usually around Rs.2LPA-Rs.3LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Due to NEP the course has been more developed to the students and teachers also explain the topocs to us very clearly and the thing should be change that the timing of the paper are at morning time which is at 7:30am it should be 10 or 10:30 because this time the students get late to the paper and didnt get time to prep.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Placements society of college is just a decade old and still top companies like Zues Capital, Barclays, and Icici bank are among the top colleges that have become a part of ecosystem where 30-40 students is what each companies hires every year. Not many though as too many sections and 500+ students means getting placed even half the students can be a task where Mithibai placement percentage is 60 odd percentage.
