Eligibility: Completing 10+2 diploma from any board high school The application form, fees, dates, and all such details are available on the university website. No reservations applicable For our batch of 2024, it was an online entrance exam and had a lot of students adopting unfair means. That could be curbed so that the students who deserve better get their desired courses.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose CSE because I have always been interested in computer science and coding The faculty-student ratio is good, SNU doesn't take up too many students and thus lets the faculty be available for the student's needs The teaching method varies from person to person but in general, it has been okayish. All the professors are highly qualified, mostly with doctorates from well-esteemed universities. The term exams were conducted according to the academic calendar and it was a good amount of studying needed to pass the same.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Dell and Goldman Sachs provide internship opportunities in the SDE roles and a few management roles. A lot of good startups approach the university for recruitment as well. The projects are usually related to the stream and the role, tasks are given that are required to be completed within the time frames
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for campus placements from their 5th semester. They are trained by a council of professionals from the industry who guide us through the whole process. A few companies would be Goldman Sachs, Dell, Microsoft, Adobe, etc. The average package comes out around 6LPA while the highest so far has been around 40 LPA. A majority of the students who do well in academics get placed. I plan to work as a software engineer after my graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fees remain the same as it was during the entrance/admission while the hostel fees and other smaller fees are subject to revision of up to 5% No scholarships are provided while a lot of On Campus Job opportunities paying ~8000/month are offered
Campus Life
Annual Fest - Breeze, conducted in March. Sports fest - Surge, conducted around November. We have a huge central library at the university which provides a large variety of books The classrooms are airconditioned, well lit, and provide a good atmosphere for studying We have more than 50 cultural and technical clubs in our university which keep our extracurricular life active. Along with the cultural side, we have a good gym and an Indoor Sports Complex that PDEs for the ts activities.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are good, better than most of the old institutes. They're hygienic and well maintained by the staff. The food quality is good but the costs are high. Its approximately Rs. 400 per day including all 3 meals Registration for hostels is done via an online system while the costs for our batch were approx 1.5 lacs which is a decent price.
