Major problem is delay in exam result marking scheme of college is very bad thats why Number of students got fail and got very less percentage of marks college faculty and office staffs are not very friendly for some of the work students have to suffer a

Entrance exam-CAT(cochin university admission test) rank-96.Reason for opting this college honestly saying i didn't got good rank in iit jee, cbse(nit)exam bt i got good rank(96) in the above entrance exam.so this is first reason for opting this college second reason,in this rank i can get any trade specially electronics&communication that i wanted to study last one is that at the time of admission there was a article in all news paper that college was going to upgrade in iiest or iit bt due to internal politics it didn't happen and also overall ranking of cochin university is very good inspite of all these above reason college is very good to study,Very good atmosphere, more over neatness and tidness of campus is very good.

Course Curriculum Overview

If you tell me to rate the curriculum structure it is good a good bunch of professor nd supporting staff is there but there is no facility of reasearch based on our curriculum, curriculam structure is designed in such a way that it will provide you the descent knowledege of your particular trade course curriculam is framed in such a way that it will give theoretical and practical knowlede about subject.

College provide internshp to M.Tech students only and i dont have much idea about how much stripned they are providing.

Placements is very good.if any student who dont have backlog nd having overall 60% they must get placed numbers of company visited to campus like TCS, WIPRO, TECH MAHINDRA, IBM, ARISCENT, STANDARD CHARTED BANK, BROADCOM, MU SIGMA, CEAT TYRE, LNT, REALINCE, IOCL,CRANE INDIA ETC average packege provided by the conpanies is 3.4 lpa but there are some navratna conpany who all visited our campus specially for fire& safety branch student and providing them av package of 7to 8 lakh.

There are no of festival celebrated in the collegeLike cultural here students provide the traditional and heritage of the state, Technical festival-here students deals with the latest technology and show there innovatin and creativity sports festival-various sports conducted between the student and no of many more events are also conducted like arts festival, talent time etc.

As this is a govt college fee structure of college is very feasible during my curriculum my semester fees is around 27K per semester only and also there was no examination fee etc per semester fee 27k this fee include all miscllenous fees only hostel fees are seperately provided.

There is no such thing is there scholarshp provided by the particular state as i am from bihar i have availed the scholarshp provided by bihar govt college didnt provide scholarshp and loan.

Campus life is very good very good neatness and tidness is there.college is under the lap of nature very friendly and hygenic envionrnment among college campus. Talking about diversity there are no such much diversity because 80% of students are localites and 20% students mainly from bihar and uttarpradesh college campus is full of parties and politics like SFI(student federation of india), KSU(Congress student unit), AVP(akhil vidhyarti parishad) etc college campus has no racial and discrimation, and also no gender discrimation is there ratio of boys and girls is quite fair approx 65:35.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network not very helpful quite have arrogant attitude talking about senior student they are very helpful most of the books and notes students can get from there respective branch senior they are really very helpful they guide their junoirs during throughout curriculum.

Exam Structure

During the semester there are two internal exam of each papar and one external i.e university exam. for lab paper there is internal as well as external lab exam whether there was hectic day or any thing each student have to attend the lab as per as class

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

This college is not what it seems in the first look.

Likes

College was at a beautiful place. It was not a city but a beautiful place.
Hostel was great. I got many friends from there.
These are the only things that I can think of.

Dislikes

Teachers, they are horrible one one teacher named aparna was professional and ethical. My HOD was the worst.
Principal is the worst. She does not hear students side. She is money minded. I had a fee pending for not more than 2 week. When I went to her for signing my medical report she demanded that she will sign only after I paid that fee
The college does not encourage extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

I choose Cochin University Of science and technology for Mtech Instrumentation Technician beacuse of its good reputation, affordable fees, and experienced faculty, and better focus on core technical subjects. I also got admission to Delhi University, but i prefer CUSAT because it was more affordable and better suited for instrumentation and automation studies. I have only applied to CUSAT, we i was not able to get admission there i would choose to work in a company. It was just a try from my side, but it actually worked out. For MTech, GATE qualifiers can direclty get the admission without any other exams. They can also avail monthly stipent of around Rs 10000. Other exam for admission is DAT exam which is conducted by the respective department of the course. I have taken the DAT exam under the Department of Statistics , where this MTech Data Science and Analytics is present. The eligibility includes BTech or MSc. Cutoff is majorly based on the number of students writing the exams and the number of seats. So cutoffs can vary. Students are selected based on the DAT ranklist. Spot admission is conducted for the remaining seats. There is also a least chance for students who didnt write the DAT Exam can also get the admission at the 2nd or 3rd spot admissions....Read More

CAT/CMAT/KMAT any of the score is mandatory. Out of all applications recieved, the initial shortlisting will be done based on these score normalised. Around 500 students get shortlisted.
