Remarks

The eligibility for admission in the btech course is above 45% marks in the 12th boards or a valid score in jee main . You can find the application form in the account center or at the conference hall. There are many reservation benefits available for the students like financial aid, pms ,etc. The whole admission process is very smooth. The infrastructure of the university is good but not on par with other government engineering colleges as it is still a new college and is still developing.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose btech cse course in dav university as this college is a good private college in punjab. The faculty in my course is good and cooperative. Almost all the faculty in the university are post graduates and have good knowledge about the subjects they are teaching. The teaching method is good and the syllabus is similar to other engineering collges in India. The course also consists of labs that helps to gain practical knowledge . The exams (mse and ese)occur timely and one can easily pass them . 75% attendance is necessary to appear in the exam. In total of 100 marks the mid sem exam(mse) contains 25 marks and end sem exam (ese) contains 50 marks , a mcq based subjective test contains 10 marks , assignment/ project contains 10 marks and the remaining 5 marks is for attendance.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are also various internship opportunities provided to the student by the university in the third and fourth year. Various projects are given to the students in the internship . The student gain a lot of experience and knowledge about the field inwhich they are offered nternship. The average stipend is about 10k.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements in the university is good. Students are able to get placements after 7th semester. Various companies visit our college each year . The average package is around 3.5 lakhs . The highest package last year was 22 lakhs in the btech cse course . The percentage of students that got placed in the 4th year was about 80%.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is good as we have to pay the fees in installments .The annual fees is divided into 3 installments, that is quite affordable. There are various scholarships given on the basis of marks and also financial assistance/special consession can be provided to the student by the University. On basis of marks scholarships on tution fees are given as follows: 1) 50% off, if the student got more than 95% in 12th class. 2) 30% off ,if more than 90% marks in 12th class. 3)15% off, if more than 85% marks in 12th class. This scholarship is given in the first year only ,if the student want to get scholarship for another year then he/she have to get good GPA in the exams.

Campus Life

4.5

There are various fests conducted in the university like spectrum, talent hunt fests , tech fests ,Diwali mela, etc. Various amenities are provided to the students in the classroom such as ac , good lighting , ventilated rooms etc. The library in the university is good . Various books of different subjects like literature, fictional ,maths, science, computer science, management, etc are available in the university library. 2-3 Library cards are given to every student for free with which one can issue a book. There are various sports and extra curricular activities in which one can enroll themselves in.Sports like basketball, cricket, badminton, judo, kabbadi , etc are present in the university. There is also a gym in the university. There are various clubs one can join like singing, dancing, etc. There are various social groups made by students on social media apps like Instagram, etc .

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. After getting degree I firstly join to the company .

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
